The fact that parking is included right in the name tells you they know what matters to actual visitors (because let me tell you, paying $40+ a night for parking at some of these places will make you question your life choices). When I first walked into the lobby, it had that comfortable, lived-in feel – not fancy, but clean and welcoming in a way that made me think “okay, these people get it.”

The ocean view lanai situation is legit, though you know what – don’t expect those postcard-perfect panoramic shots you see on Instagram. It’s more like you can actually see the water between buildings, which in Waikiki honestly counts as a win. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the early surfers paddle out before the beach got crazy with tourists. The rooms themselves are pretty standard 3-star fare, nothing that’ll blow your mind but everything works and the AC actually keeps up with the Hawaiian humidity (crucial detail right there). I mean, the decor is a bit dated – think tropical themes from maybe 2010 – but it’s clean and the beds are comfortable enough that I wasn’t counting sheep.

What I really appreciated was the location – you’re close enough to all the Waikiki action that you can walk to the beach or grab dinner without much hassle, but far enough from Kalakaua Avenue that you’re not dealing with the constant noise of tour buses and street performers until all hours. The staff actually seemed to know the area too, not just the typical tourist spots. When I asked about good local food, they pointed me toward some hole-in-the-wall places that I never would’ve found otherwise. The 7.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s solidly good without being exceptional, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re spending most of your time exploring the island anyway. If you’re looking for a place to sleep, shower, and store your stuff between adventures without breaking the bank or dealing with parking drama, Aqua Palms does the job well.

Early hotels booking in Hawaii is essential during major events like the Ironman World Championship, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the islands’ renowned surfing culture and tropical beauty.

  Location. It is in Waikiki, but not in the middle.

  The location was convenient. However, it is located about two blocks from a Biki bike station (the rental bicycles). If you’re okay with walking it is in a good location. Parking is included in spot #66. Would have been more convenient to know the parking space number upon arrival.

  Liked the free parking, which is very hard to come by in Waikiki. Also liked the location, a five minute walk from the Hilton where my conference was. I also liked that they gave me a partial refund because the booking.com description was inaccurate as there is no kitchen.
