Aston Maui Hill Overview
You know what surprised me most about Aston Maui Hill? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you upfront, but somehow grows on you until you’re genuinely sad to leave. I mean, it’s a solid 3-star property with an 8.6 rating, which honestly tells you everything – people aren’t expecting the Ritz, but they’re walking away pretty damn happy.
The first thing you notice pulling up is how the property sits on this hillside (hence the name, obviously) with these sprawling grounds that actually feel more like a residential complex than your typical tourist hotel. And that’s sort of the magic of it – you’re staying in what feels like a condo community where locals might actually live, not some sterile resort bubble. The units themselves have that lived-in comfort that’s way better than pristine but soulless rooms. I’m talking full kitchens where you can actually cook real food, not just reheat leftovers, and lanais where you’ll find yourself having coffee every morning because the views across the island are just… well, they’re the kind that make you understand why people move to Maui and never leave. The trade winds hit just right up there too, which means even on those sticky August days, you’ve got this constant breeze that makes everything bearable.
What really sold me though was how the staff treats you like you belong there – not like you’re just passing through with a credit card. The woman at the front desk (I think her name was Leilani?) knew which units got the best sunset views and which ones to avoid if you’re sensitive to the garbage truck that comes through Tuesday mornings around 6 AM. That’s the kind of intel you can’t get from booking photos, you know? And honestly, the location is pretty brilliant if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Maui rather than just visiting it. You’re close enough to Kihei that grocery runs and decent restaurants are easy, but far enough up the hill that you escape most of the tourist chaos. The pool area gets busy around 2 PM when families with kids show up, but mornings and evenings it’s this peaceful spot where you might share the space with just a few other people who figured out the same timing. Sure, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards – we’re talking standard island furniture and that particular shade of tropical print that was probably last updated in 2010 – but everything works, it’s clean, and there’s something refreshing about a place that puts comfort over Instagram moments.

Our unit was exceptional. Everything was high quality, the kitchen was so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It was very clean and almost brand new. The bedrooms were beautifully set up, although the bed was a little soft for us. Latest tech TV's and good WiFi. Resort facilities were also great and so were staff.

Clean, well maintained property. We started in a two bedroom and it was spacious for our family of 5. Loved having a kitchen and washer/dryer.

Location was perfect to walk to several beaches, shopping, eateries! The condo itself had a beautiful view of the ocean, was clean, well stocked and provided inside and outside places for seating and dining. You are also able to BBQ if you choose to cook meals (fresh fish of course)! Would absolutely stay here again! The grounds were beautifully decorated for Christmas!

Front desk was super friendly and kind- we had a great view- the mornings were so peaceful sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise over Haleakala while listening to all the Maui birds. The pool was great and we loved being so close to the ocean. It was quiet and super clean!! Oh- and loved being able to wash our clothes in the in-unit washer/dryer.

We had the best stay at Aston Maui Hill. We were able to relax and hang out at the pool and meet people all over. It’s close to the beach and a short walk into town for dinner or shopping. We were able to plan our snorkeling trip right there and it was the greatest adventure seeing beautiful fish and swim with the turtles. We highly recommend staying here.

We really liked how close we were able to park. The front door was 20 feet. The landscaping beautiful and well taken care of.
