4Bd Kamilo 333 Home At Mauna Lani Resort Overview
You know what really got me about this place? I’ve stayed at plenty of vacation rentals on the Big Island, but this four-bedroom house at Mauna Lani just hits different. It’s tucked away in the Kamilo section – honestly, when you first pull up, you might think you took a wrong turn because it doesn’t scream “resort” the way some of those flashier properties do. But that’s actually what makes it perfect.
The house itself feels like someone’s actual home, not some sterile vacation rental where everything’s beige and bolted down. I mean, it’s clearly been set up for guests, but there’s this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake. The bedrooms are actually spacious enough that you’re not tripping over suitcases, and – this is going to sound weird – but the water pressure in the showers is phenomenal. You’d be surprised how many expensive rentals mess that up. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you’re planning to cook (and honestly, with four bedrooms, you’re probably feeding a crowd anyway). There’s something really satisfying about hitting up the Foodland in Waikoloa Village and making breakfast while everyone else is still waking up.
What really sets this spot apart though is the location within Mauna Lani. You’re close enough to walk to the beach clubs and that gorgeous stretch of sand near the Fairmont, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of being right on top of everything. The resort’s got this network of walking paths that most people don’t even know about – perfect for early morning coffee walks before the sun gets too intense. And here’s a local tip: the tide pools just south of the main beach area are incredible during low tide, especially if you’ve got kids with you. The whole area stays pretty quiet in the evenings too, which is clutch if you’re trying to get little ones to sleep or just want to sit outside with a drink without feeling like you’re at a party.
I’ll be honest – this isn’t the cheapest option on the island, but when you break it down per bedroom and factor in having a full kitchen, it actually makes sense, especially during peak season when hotel rates get absolutely bonkers. The only thing I’d mention is that you’ll want a rental car since you’re not walking to restaurants from here (well, you could, but it’s a trek in the heat). But that’s true for most places on this side of the island anyway. The whole Mauna Lani area just has this calming vibe that’s hard to describe – maybe it’s being surrounded by all that lava rock and perfectly manicured landscaping, or maybe it’s just being far enough from Kona that you feel like you’ve actually escaped somewhere. Either way, this house nails that sweet spot between having resort amenities nearby and feeling like you’ve got your own private slice of paradise.

The golf cart was so nice to use. The entire home was beautifully done and the kitchen was so well equipped. I especially loved the soaps and lotion. So many wonderful touches!
