Beachfront Kihei Sanctuary with Lanai and Ocean Views!

So I stumbled across this place while wandering around Kihei, and honestly, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know – it really is right on the beach with this amazing lanai situation going on. The first thing that hit me when I walked in was how the ocean just sort of dominates every view, which sounds obvious given the name, but you know how sometimes places oversell the “ocean view” thing? Not here.

The setup is pretty solid for what it is – I mean, we’re talking about a 3-star spot, so don’t expect the Ritz, but there’s something genuinely comfortable about the whole vibe. That lanai becomes your new favorite room basically immediately, especially in the mornings when you can sit out there with your coffee and watch the waves without dealing with any of the South Kihei Road traffic noise (which, if you’ve been to Maui, you know can be a thing). The trade winds actually work in your favor here – they keep things cool and push most of the sound away from the building. What really got me was how close you are to everything without feeling like you’re in the middle of tourist chaos. You can walk to Kalama Park in maybe five minutes, and there’s this little local-style plate lunch spot just down the road that barely anyone talks about but honestly serves some of the best poke I had on the island.

The place itself has that slightly worn-in feel that I actually kind of love – it’s not Instagram-perfect, but it feels real, you know? Like actual people live and relax here instead of just posing for photos. The 7.1 rating makes sense to me because it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does well, it does really well. The beach access is the real winner here – you literally walk out and you’re on this stretch of sand that doesn’t get completely overrun like some of the resort areas further north. I spent most afternoons just watching the boogie boarders and honestly, the sunset views from that lanai are worth the price alone. Sure, the place could probably use some updates here and there, but when you’re falling asleep to the sound of waves and waking up to that view every morning, those little details start to matter way less than you’d think.
