I mean, when you see “remodeled” in a listing, you never know if that means they slapped some new paint on the walls or actually did the work – but honestly, whoever renovated this place knew what they were doing. The moment I walked in, everything felt fresh and thoughtfully put together, not like those cookie-cutter vacation rentals that all look the same.

The studio itself is smart about space – they’ve managed to fit everything you actually need without making it feel cramped. The kitchen area is probably my favorite part because you can tell someone who actually cooks designed it. Good counter space, decent appliances, and (this might sound silly but it matters) the lighting is actually bright enough to see what you’re doing when you’re prepping dinner. The bed is comfortable too, which… look, I’ve learned not to take that for granted in vacation rentals. What really got me though was how quiet it stays at night – the Banyan isn’t right on the main drag, so you’re not dealing with late-night traffic or people stumbling back from the bars in Kihei.

I’ll be honest, the location is kind of perfect if you know Maui at all. You’re close enough to South Kihei Road that grabbing groceries at Foodland or hitting up Coconut’s Fish Cafe for lunch is easy, but you’re tucked back enough that it feels peaceful. The beach access is solid too – Kamaole Beach Parks I and II are basically a short walk, and those are the beaches where locals actually hang out, not just the tourist spots. Parking can get a little tight during peak season (I was there in February and yeah, it was busy), but there’s usually something available if you’re not too picky about walking an extra minute or two. The whole complex has this sort of old-school Hawaiian vibe that somehow works perfectly with the modern touches in the studio – palm trees everywhere, those classic low-rise buildings, nothing too flashy but everything well-maintained. If you’re looking for something that feels like a real place to stay rather than just a hotel room with a kitchenette, this is definitely worth considering.

  The bed was extra large and comfortable. The area was prestine with lots of things to do in area. Beach just across the street.
