The walk takes maybe three minutes if you’re moving slowly and stopping to look at things. What’s really nice is that you hit the beach right near where the local guys surf in the mornings, so if you’re an early riser (and honestly, the time change will probably make you one whether you want to be or not), you can grab coffee and watch them paddle out before the tourist crowds show up.

The building itself has that solid, established feel – not brand new and shiny, but not run-down either. It’s the kind of place where the elevator actually works reliably and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle downtown, but they’ve got a garage situation figured out, which honestly saves you from circling blocks looking for street parking that costs more per hour than some people make. The whole setup feels like it was designed by people who actually understand how travelers think, you know? Like, there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped, and the kitchen area is actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Foodland down on Kapahulu instead of paying resort prices for everything. The ocean view from the 34th floor is the real selling point though – especially around sunset when the whole sky turns those ridiculous tropical colors that don’t look real in photos. You’ll find yourself just standing there with your drink, watching the light change, feeling pretty good about your vacation choices.
