The lobby has that sort of worn-in Hawaiian charm that actually feels authentic rather than trying too hard. The hotel fills up with a mix of families and couples who seem to get that sometimes you just need a decent place to crash between beach days and hiking adventures. Check-in is usually smooth – nothing fancy, but they’re efficient and friendly. I’d say if you’re looking for Instagram-perfect amenities, this probably isn’t your spot, but if you want somewhere that feels like actual Hawaii rather than a resort bubble, the Diamond Head Beach Hotel delivers on that front. Plus, you’ll save money that you can spend on better food and activities, which honestly seems like the smarter play anyway.

  Great location waterfront with great waterfront seating as well as large balcony overlooking the water. The unit’s common area was large and the kitchen was a good size. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was a good size.

  I loved the location & it was so peaceful. I was able to walk to most of the places I needed to go. I have no complaints about location.

  There was a kitchen in the unit, where we could prepare our own meals (after we bought some food). The views from the unit were WONDERFUL! It was nice to be in a quiet location, after having stayed right in Waikiki for our first 5 nights. The furnishings were nice, the shower was huge and the unit was clean.
