You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star condo rental, but Elegant Turtle Bay honestly surprised me in the best way. The name sounds a bit fancy for what it is, but that’s kind of the charm – it’s this laid-back place that doesn’t take itself too seriously. When I first walked in, I actually laughed because there’s literally turtle-themed art everywhere, and I mean everywhere. The owner clearly has a thing for sea turtles, which you’ll either find endearing or slightly overwhelming depending on your tolerance for themed decor.

The condo itself feels more like staying at someone’s beach house than a typical hotel, which I actually preferred. The kitchen is properly stocked – not just the usual two mismatched plates and a broken can opener situation you get at most rentals. I made coffee every morning and even cooked dinner a couple times because, honestly, the sunset view from that little balcony is better than any restaurant atmosphere. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there; it’s not luxury, but everything works and it’s genuinely comfortable. The bed was surprisingly good – firm but not rock-hard – and the AC actually kept the place cool, which isn’t always a given at beach properties.

Location-wise, you’re close enough to hear the waves but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the constant beach crowd noise. I could walk to the main strip in about ten minutes, maybe fifteen if I was being lazy about it. Parking was never an issue, which honestly saved my vacation since I’d heard horror stories about some places in the area. The check-in was refreshingly simple too – none of that corporate hotel rigmarole, just straightforward keys and a quick tour. My only minor complaint would be that the walls are a bit thin, so if you get neighbors who like to party, you’ll know about it. But most guests seemed to be families or couples just wanting to chill, so it worked out fine. If you’re looking for something authentic and unpretentious where you can actually relax without breaking the bank, this turtle-obsessed little spot hits the mark perfectly.

  This is my 4th annual stay at Turtle Bay Condo’s, I stay there due to proximity to my daughter and her children. I love the variety of activities offered via Turtle Bay, and have done them all. I felt compelled to make comments because this Condo was the superior to my previous stays in CLEANLINESS, and most comfortable that I have stayed. The condo #143 East, is equipped with plenty of beach toy’s for toddler’s, teens, and adults. Kitchen is well stocked with kitchen needs (coffee too!) Washer/Dryer high end, the air conditioners provide strong cool air! The MOST outstanding HONORABLE mention is all previous condo’s had issues with extremely small aunts ALL three! Condo #143 East had NONE! In addition, it was quiet a short walking to Lei Lei’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner which I recommend. Also walking distance to beaches, Hotel Shopping, Hotel Restaurants, and Hotel grocery convenience. I MUST also mention the maintenance staff was prompt and respectful to answer my numerous questions, such as "just how does this high end washer work?" Finally, property security was visible and communicative.

  Location is fantastic. Quiet, calm, beautiful. The kitchen was fully equipped/stocked, beach towels and beach accessories were available to us and that was wonderful. I could stay here every visit.

  I loved the location and that we had our own parking space. Sarah, who was part of the management was so kind and helped with questions all the time.
  The property had utensils, pans etc. everything for cooking. We also had access to the turtle beach walking distance. It was amazing

  We loved the north beach and all the amenities that came with this condo including that they had snorkel equipment and beach towels for renters to use. Kitchen was very well equipped.

  The location in the Turtle Bay Resort area was great, set as it is in the midst of the golf course — calm and green. Walkable access to beautiful un-busy beaches.
  Very nice to have nice restaurants to walk to. The apartment was spacious enough and had good stocks of consumable goods.

  Very clean, well-stocked rental. Great location on the North Shore of Oahu. The use of the pool was a lot of fun for visiting family. Two bathrooms were convenient. The bed was very comfortable. Lots of windows to open for the breeze.
