Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to the Four Seasons at Ko Olina – I mean, it’s tucked into this resort development on the west side of Oahu that feels completely different from the Waikiki chaos most people associate with Hawaiian hotels. But the moment you walk into that open-air lobby with the trade winds actually doing their job (instead of just being a marketing phrase), you realize this place gets it right in ways that matter.
The lagoons here are what really set it apart, and I’m talking about these four man-made lagoons that Ko Olina is built around – they’re calm, protected from the surf, and honestly perfect if you’re traveling with kids or just want to float around without getting pummeled by waves. The hotel sits right on one of them, Lanikuhonua Beach, and you know what? The water stays surprisingly clear even when it’s busy. I’ve seen plenty of resort beaches that turn murky by noon, but something about how these lagoons are designed keeps the water looking like those postcard shots. The beach chairs here are actually comfortable too – not those flimsy things that collapse the second you lean back.
What really impressed me was how they handle the whole “luxury resort” thing without making you feel like you’re trapped in a bubble. Yeah, the rooms are gorgeous (those ocean-view suites with the deep soaking tubs are worth the splurge), but you can also easily drive into Kapolei for actual local food, or hit up the Aulani Disney resort next door if you want to see what $850 million looks like. The staff here seems to actually live on the island – they’ll tell you about the Sunday farmers market in Kapolei or recommend hitting up Monkeypod Kitchen at Ko Olina Station for happy hour instead of just pushing the hotel restaurants. Speaking of which, their poolside service is solid, but the prices are what you’d expect from a Five Seasons property, so maybe grab breakfast off-site if you’re watching your budget. The pools themselves are beautiful – there’s this adults-only infinity pool that faces west, so sunset drinks are pretty much mandatory. One small thing that bugged me: the main pool can get crowded with families during peak season (think Christmas through March), but honestly, with those lagoons right there, it’s not really a problem. The whole Ko Olina area has this master-planned community vibe that some people love and others find a bit sterile, but if you want that polished resort experience with easy access to snorkeling, golf, and some of the best sunsets on the island, this place delivers.
Early hotels booking in Hawaii is essential during major events like the Ironman World Championship, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the islands’ renowned surfing culture and tropical beauty.

Break fast and all meals/restaurants were fabulous! Staff were fantastic, just the best! And the facilities and surroundings just unbelievable! We picked this hotel because another lady had left a review saying how her stay was so amazing it ruined other holidays for her and I completely agree and am so glad we went!
The stargazing and the sound bath activities were SO wonderful and delivered by the best people!! Thank you!Mark from United States (8/10)
Finely presented, exceptionally friendly and professional front of house, concierge and restaurant staff. Restaurant food was excellent quality.

Enjoyed our 6 night stay. The staff was very accommodating and did their best to ensure we had a great experience. Property was beautifully maintained and offered a lot of food options, multiple pools, and a lovely beach area on the very calm bay. Cleaning and concierge staff were very warm and helpful. We were given lots of attention throughout our stay and offered many complimentary items throughout each day such as bottled water, extra Nespresso pods in our room, anniversary gifts for our wedding anniversary and a beach bag to use during the stay.
We had some issues with the room we were initially given and were upgraded to an ocean-view room right away as a result. The complimentary departure lounge was a cherry on top, which can be used by anyone who would like to take a shower, repack, and prepare for their departure after they’ve already checked out. We used it for an hour to get ready for our flight after spending the whole day enjoying the property on our last day. We were also given complimentary late check-out until 2pm, but this may be because of the length of our stay.
Although the West coast of the island was not our favourite coast overall, we did enjoy the calm bays of Ko’olina and the beautiful sunsets. The hotel is also located very close to the airport – it only took 20 minutes to get there when we departed.
Would highly recommend if you’re looking to stay on the West Coast and are looking for luxury accommodations in a quiet part of O’ahu.Maria from United States (10/10)

Beautiful location . Perfect ambiance for relaxing and taking a break from busy life. The cove was perfect to take a swim in the ocean. Many pools on property to pick from to enjoy. The Ohana pool was my favorite. Mina’s Fish house and Noe restaurants were both beautiful and delicious.

Wonderful and clean room, great balcony, and plenty of pool seating and easy access to the private lagoon. The dining options are very tasty but a bit overpriced, at least for the cafe options. Service was also awesome.
