The thing about staying in Kapolei is that you’re sort of in this sweet spot where you can actually live like a local for a few days. You’ve got the Ka Makana Ali’i shopping center right there when you need groceries or want to grab dinner somewhere that isn’t trying to charge you tourist prices, and honestly, the drive to the beaches on the west side – like Ko Olina or even further out to Makaha – feels way more manageable than fighting traffic from Honolulu. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from Hampton Inn, which is to say they’re clean, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning works properly (crucial detail in Hawaii humidity). I actually appreciated that they keep things simple – good shower pressure, decent Wi-Fi, and a breakfast that gets you out the door without having to think too hard about where to find coffee.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how quiet it stays even when it’s busy.   The Hotel was literally right next door to a shopping mall and restaurants. The rooms were very clean, the gym well equipped, the pool was clean and the free breakfast helped with our budget. The hotel was close to other shopping malls and attractions. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel and location.
