Hilton Vacation Club The Point at Poipu Kauai Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hilton Vacation Club The Point at Poipu Kauai, you immediately get that relaxed island vibe — but with the polish you’d expect from a well-managed three-star property. The lobby feels open and breezy, which honestly is exactly what you want after stepping off a plane in Hawaii. What struck me right away was how the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, not just going through the motions. The whole place has this laid-back sophistication that works perfectly for Kauai’s south shore.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Poipu — it’s where locals actually recommend you stay, and this hotel sits right in the sweet spot. You’re literally minutes from some of Kauai’s best beaches, including Poipu Beach Park where the snorkeling is fantastic. The couples who stay here absolutely love the location (they rate it 9.5 out of 10), and I can see why. You can walk to restaurants, grab groceries at the nearby shopping center, or just wander down to watch the sunset without dealing with crazy tourist crowds. Plus, having free private parking on-site is actually a bigger deal than you might think — parking can be a real headache at some Hawaiian hotels.
The Accommodations
The rooms here are more like vacation condos, which makes sense given it’s a vacation club property. You’ll get a full kitchen, separate living area, and honestly, way more space than a typical hotel room. The balconies — well, most of them anyway — give you those tropical views you came to Hawaii for. I mean, being able to make your own coffee in the morning and store leftovers from dinner is pretty convenient when you’re staying for more than just a night or two. The decor is that comfortable island style that doesn’t try too hard but still feels special.
Activities & Amenities
The fitness center is decent for a three-star property, though let’s be honest — you’re probably going to be too busy exploring Kauai to spend much time on a treadmill. What I really appreciated was the hot tub after long days of hiking or beach time. They also arrange fishing excursions, which is actually a great way to see the island from a different perspective. The pool area becomes the social hub in the evenings, where you’ll end up chatting with other guests about their day’s adventures.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests consistently rate this place highly (8.2 overall), and the location scores are through the roof at 9.4. You know what really sets Hilton Vacation Club The Point at Poipu Kauai apart? It strikes that perfect balance between having resort amenities and feeling like you’re staying somewhere with character. You’re not just another tourist trapped in a hotel bubble — you’re actually experiencing Poipu like someone who knows the area. The combination of spacious accommodations, that unbeatable south shore location, and staff who genuinely care about your experience makes this a solid choice for anyone wanting to explore Kauai without breaking the bank.

Great property, really enjoyed the location and the visit overall. Beautiful setting, easily access many other attractions on Hawaii. Concierge desk (I talked to two people) was oustanding. They really knew their stuff and gave great recommendations for what to do on the island. The pool was great, too, and had a pretty good happy hour at the pool bar! The water filtration stand was a nice bonus.
