Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Holiday Surf Hotel? Walking into that lobby, I honestly expected your typical beach crash pad – maybe some tired furniture and that musty smell you get in places too close to salt air. Instead, it’s actually got this laid-back charm that feels intentional, not accidental. The staff at check-in were genuinely friendly (not the scripted kind), and I mean, when’s the last time someone at a 3-star place remembered your name the next morning?
But here’s the real deal – those full kitchens aren’t just some mini-fridge situation. We’re talking actual counter space, a stove that works properly, and enough dishes that you don’t have to wash everything after making coffee. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, honestly, there’s something satisfying about scrambling eggs while you can hear the waves through the window. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, though the walls are a bit thin – you’ll know when your neighbors are having a good time, if you catch my drift. Nothing terrible, just something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper.
The location really grew on me too. Sure, you’re not right on the beach, but it’s maybe a five-minute walk, and you actually avoid some of the craziness that comes with those oceanfront places. Less noise at night, easier parking (which, trust me, matters more than you think), and you’re still close enough that hauling beach gear isn’t a workout. The neighborhood has this local feel – there’s a little coffee shop about two blocks over that the front desk guy recommended, and their pastries are ridiculously good. I also noticed the hotel gets a solid mix of travelers – some families, some couples, a few solo adventurers like myself. It creates this relaxed vibe where everyone’s doing their own thing but nobody’s being obnoxious about it. That 8.3 rating makes total sense once you spend a few days there. It’s not fancy, and it doesn’t pretend to be, but everything works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Great value hotel, you get what you pay for. Excellent location within walking distance to everything. Spacious room, full kitchen with large fridge. Good aircon, some street noise but nothing more than usual for city living. Great service from staff able to book an appointment to drop off bags early before check-in. Would stay here again.

The location of the hotel is excellent, across the street from the Ala Wai Canal, 5 minutes on foot from International Market Place (a very nice mall), 10 minutes on foot from Waikiki Beach. It is located quite close to the Waikiki Aquarium. The area is full of restaurants, shops, bars, the sound of the ocean. The hotel room was big, spacious. From the point of view of cleanliness, I have a few observations: it can be seen that cleaning is not done in detail, for example, the stove and the stove holes have not been cleaned for some time, as well as the toilet paper holder. Otherwise, the staff was very kind and professional. There were no incidents and during the entire stay I completely relaxed.
