The living area opens up nicely, and you know what really got me? The lanai overlooks the gardens (hence the name), giving you this peaceful green view that’s surprisingly soothing after a day of Big Island adventures.

Here’s the thing about Alii Drive — you’re literally a five-minute walk from some of Kona’s best snorkeling spots, but you’re also close enough to town that grabbing dinner or hitting the farmers market doesn’t require a whole expedition. I found myself walking to Magic Sands Beach most mornings, then swinging by the shops in town on the way back. The location really shines for couples (apparently they rate it 9.4, which honestly makes sense), because you can easily bounce between romantic sunset spots and more active daytime stuff without feeling rushed.

What I loved most was how this place lets you actually live a bit while you’re visiting. Having that full kitchen meant I could grab fresh fish from the local market and cook it myself — something you just can’t do in a regular hotel. I spent a lot of time on that lanai with morning coffee, planning out which beaches to hit or whether to drive up to the coffee farms in actual Holualoa town (about 15 minutes uphill, totally worth it).

  Everything was just perfect! Location is great! Free parking slot. Well equipped condo, we travel a lot and this one was the best in our entire life!
  It has everything we needed: coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, beach equipment.
  The bed was very comfortable.
  We traveled in three and there was enough space for everybody.
  The host was very nice and the communication was great!
  If we were back to Big Island, we would stay in Halualoa Garden for sure!

  I liked how there was beach equipment like snorkeling gear and boogie boards that we could use, and the location was great! It was right across the street from a really good poke shop and a beach that had a beautiful view of the sunset.

  Great place to spend a week! The apartment is very conveniently located . It has all the nessasaties , like a cooler, sunscreen , bug spray, snorkeling gear, and more. We would highly recommend it .

  Great place for 3-4 people. The 1 bedroom apartment is located a 7-10 minute drive to Kona center where all the restaurants and amenities are located. Also close to beaches where snorkeling is good. All the beach equipment is provided: boogie boards, snorkels, chairs, and a cooler. The pantry and fridge have all the necessary essentials for cooking (salt/pepper, oil, coffee, even pancake mix and syrup!). We had breakfast in the apartment and took all our other meals outside. Very clean and even had a washer/dryer for longer stays. It was cool enough in March so no need for the AC but fans were good for evenings to sleep. The back bedroom was super quiet. Our daughter was sleeping on the sofa bed so the lanai area was a nice place to lounge. Jenaya communicated well with us and took care of a missing blanket quickly. Also, very clear with signs and instructions in the apartment. Good value for the area.
