You know what really got me about this place? Walking into unit 1228 at the Ilikai Tower, I wasn’t expecting much from the “lagoon view” part – I mean, how good could it really be? But honestly, standing on that lanai looking out over the Ala Wai Harbor with the lagoon stretching toward Waikiki Beach, it hit different than I thought it would. The view isn’t just pretty postcard stuff either – you actually get to watch the outrigger canoe clubs practicing in the early mornings, which is kind of mesmerizing with your coffee.
The one-bedroom setup works really well if you’re not trying to cram too many people in there. The kitchen’s actually functional (not just for show like some places), and I appreciated having real counter space to spread out groceries from the Foodland on Kapiolani – which, by the way, is maybe a ten-minute walk if you cut through the parking areas. The building itself has that classic 1960s Hawaii high-rise vibe that either works for you or it doesn’t, but the unit feels updated enough that you’re not dealing with ancient fixtures or that musty condo smell some of these older places have. What I really noticed was how quiet it stays considering you’re basically in the thick of everything – the tower’s positioned so you don’t get the street noise from Ala Moana Boulevard, but you can still walk to the beach path or catch the bus super easily.
Here’s the thing though – and this is coming from someone who’s stayed all over this area – the location is sort of perfect for people who want to be near Waikiki without being right in the chaos of it. You’re close enough that you can walk to the International Market Place or grab dinner on Kalakaua Avenue, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise every single day. The building’s parking situation is actually decent (which, if you’ve tried to park around here, you know is saying something), and the front desk staff seemed to know what they were doing during check-in. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or anything, but for a solid 4-star experience with that lagoon view and the convenience of being able to cook your own meals while still being walking distance from everything that matters? It delivers on what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need for a Hawaii trip.

The location was very very good with views of the lagoon. Facilities in the kitchen were very very good as well.The balcony was lovely but we couldn’t sit out there because of the noise, very very disappointing, The noise from the strike , protesters from the Hilton Next Door all day , ridiculous…..

ワイキキに行くのも、アラモアナに行くのもとても便利なロケーションでした。ラナイからのオーシャンビューはとても美しく、毎日気分が高揚します。建物はやや古いですが、お部屋はメンテが行き届いており、清潔、快適で、生活に必要な備品も全て揃っていました。暮らすようにハワイを旅することが出来たので、本当に感謝しています。機会があれば、また滞在したい最高の部屋でした。
