The building itself is well-maintained, and getting to the 7th floor felt like stepping into someone’s thoughtfully designed home rather than a typical hotel. There’s something refreshingly personal about the whole setup that immediately puts you at ease.

Location That Actually Matters

Look, I’ve stayed all over Waikiki, and this spot on Kuhio Avenue is genuinely one of the better locations you’ll find. You’re close enough to the beach that it’s an easy walk — maybe five minutes tops — but far enough from the absolute chaos of Kalakaua Avenue that you can actually sleep at night. The fact that couples rate this location so highly makes total sense when you experience it firsthand. Plus, having parking available on-site is honestly a game-changer in this part of Honolulu, where finding a spot can be a nightmare.

The Space Itself

The room feels more like a well-appointed studio than a traditional hotel setup, which I actually prefer. There’s a proper kitchenette that’s actually functional — not one of those tiny things where you can barely fit a coffee cup. I mean, you can prepare real meals here if you want to save money or just prefer eating in sometimes. The layout is smart, and everything feels clean and updated. The view isn’t spectacular, but honestly, you’re not spending much time inside anyway when you’re in Waikiki.

What Makes It Work

What really struck me about Jenny’s Cottage is how it manages to feel both independent and well-serviced at the same time. You get the privacy and space of having your own place, but there’s still that sense of security and maintenance you want from a proper accommodation. The building is quiet — well, as quiet as anywhere in Waikiki can be — and I never felt like I was dealing with the typical hotel hassles. The whole setup just feels more authentic than those massive resort complexes that dominate the beachfront.

Why Guests Love It

After spending time here, I totally understand why this place scores so well with visitors. It’s that sweet spot between having your own space and being right in the heart of everything. You can walk to the beach, grab food from dozens of places within a few blocks, and still come back to somewhere that feels like a retreat. For couples especially, there’s something nice about having a real space to yourselves rather than just a standard hotel room. The combination of location, privacy, and that home-away-from-home vibe really does work — it’s why I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Honolulu.

  Good location. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Safe location. Excellent security (24/7) at the apartment, I have my wife and daughter with me and feel safe for them to be alone on their own. Host is very pleasant and helpful, very easy to work with. We had a pleasant stay! Thank you!

  Jenny provides all the instructions needed for easy check in and check out during our stay. She also was always available and helpful. The property had a great view of the ocean with a spacious balcony to enjoy coffee or a cocktail. The apartment was comfortable and had almost everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There were plenty of beach towels and 2 beach chairs that have seen better days but we were able to use while exploring Oahu with no issues. Jenny was very accommodating and we recommend her place.

  Beautiful breeze all day long , we hardly used the aircon as it was just so lovely leaving the lanai door open and enjoying the wonderful breeze – very good location as kuhio beach just down the road – best poke bowl restaurant just in front ( Maguro spot ) so handy and very fresh .

  The property is in a great location. It’s a couple of blocks from the beach, and has awesome views of the ocean. We walked back from Diamond Head after hiking to the top. We also walked to Ala Moana Shopping Center but that was a trek. It’s right by the bus line. The food around there is awesome!
  
  The condo itself has pretty much everything you need. Each window frames a different stunning view. Jenny is very responsive to any questions.

  It was very easy to access the apartment! The instructions were initially tricky because of the front door but we just called and everything worked out quickly. Other than that, the front desk staff were super helpful and kind which made things easy.
