Hotel Description
Okay, so Kailua Village unit 506 is one of those places that actually delivers on what everyone comes to Kailua for – and honestly, being on the fifth floor makes all the difference. When you walk into this condo, the first thing that hits you is that view of Kailua Bay stretching out in front of you. I mean, you’ve probably seen the photos online, but there’s something about seeing that turquoise water from up here that just… well, it gets you every time.
The unit itself feels like someone actually lives here rather than one of those sterile vacation rentals where everything’s beige and boring. You know what I really appreciated? The lanai is big enough to actually use – not just stand on for two seconds to take a selfie. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the windsurfers and kayakers already out on the water by 7 AM (those early birds know what they’re doing, the wind picks up later). The kitchen’s properly stocked too, which matters because while Kalapawai Market is right there in town, you’ll want to grab groceries in Honolulu before driving over if you’re planning to cook much – island prices are no joke.
Location-wise, you’re basically in the sweet spot of Kailua Beach. It’s maybe a three-minute walk to the sand, and you can avoid the circus that happens at the main beach access points where all the tour groups get dropped off. Head left when you hit the beach and you’ll find your own little stretch pretty easily. The building itself is quiet – I was worried about noise being right in the village, but the trade winds and the fact that most people are out exploring during the day keeps things peaceful. Parking can get interesting during peak season (basically December through March and summer months), but there’s usually something within a block or two. Just don’t expect to park right outside like you’re in suburbia somewhere.
What really sold me on this place is that it feels connected to actual Kailua life, not just the tourist version. You can walk to Kalapawai for their açai bowls – get there before 9 AM on weekends unless you want to wait in line with half of Oahu. The Wednesday farmer’s market is right there too, and honestly, picking up some apple bananas and local honey became part of my routine. Evening wise, the sunset views aren’t dramatic like the North Shore, but watching the bay settle into that calm, glassy state as the day winds down… it’s pretty perfect for decompressing from whatever chaos brought you to Hawaii in the first place.
Visitors often choose Hawaii apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Pacific paradise.

Reviews

Fantastic location. Designated parking. Close enough but far enough from the restaurants and bars. Coolers, beach chairs, towels, boards in the condo. Coffee maker, all the expected and needed necessities and prior guest angels leaving coffee beans, Splenda/ stevia and spices. Window ac unit functioned well and cooled the unit fine. We are active and did not do much beach stuff but this is a great rental!
