Kamaole Sands 4-410 Overview
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Kihei over the years, but Kamaole Sands 4-410 really surprised me. When you first pull up, it doesn’t look like much from the outside – just another mid-rise condo complex along South Kihei Road. But honestly, once you get inside unit 4-410, the whole vibe changes. The lanai faces west toward the ocean, and I mean, when that Maui sunset hits around 6 PM, you’re going to forget about whatever stress brought you to the islands in the first place.
The thing about this particular unit is that it’s on the fourth floor, so you actually get some elevation above the palm trees – which matters more than you’d think. A lot of the ground-level units feel a bit closed in, but from up here you can see clear across to Molokini Crater on a good day. The trade winds flow through really nicely too, especially in the late afternoon when it can get pretty warm on that side of the island. I kept the sliding doors open most of the time and barely touched the AC, which was a nice surprise on the electric bill. The kitchen’s totally functional if you want to cook – and you should, because the farmers market in town on Wednesdays has incredible local fish and produce. There’s a Foodland just a few minutes down the road too, nothing fancy but it has everything you need.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right across from Kamaole Beach Park III. The beach there is honestly one of my favorites on the island – it’s got that soft sand that’s perfect for morning walks, and the snorkeling on the north end is decent if you go early before the crowds show up. The pool area at Kamaole Sands gets busy around midday (especially when the cruise ships are in port), but mornings and evenings it’s pretty peaceful. Parking was never an issue, which – trust me – is not something you can say about every place in Kihei. The whole complex feels well-maintained without being stuffy, if that makes sense. I mean, it’s not brand new, but everything works and the grounds are kept up nicely. Check-in was smooth, and the property managers actually seemed to care about making sure everything was set up right. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a week and actually feel like you’re living there, not just passing through.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Hawaii at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak winter season when the islands host numerous cultural festivals and outdoor activities.

The condo was exactly what it looked like on the website. Very clean, it even had a cooler and beach items in the patio closet (that wasn't mentioned on the website but was VERY much appreciated!) The location is great – right across from the beach, close to downtown Kihei but quiet area. Loved everything about it! Also Angie was VERY nice – I didn't get an email with check in info from Booking.com so I called the number listed for the property and she answered. She was able to see I didn't get the email and sent it to me right away. Perfect!
