It’s actually tucked away in this perfect spot where you get all the benefits of being in Kapalua without the resort crowds breathing down your neck. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the Plantation Course – which, honestly, is reason enough to stay here if you’re a golfer – but you’ve got this villa-style setup that feels way more like having your own place on Maui rather than just another hotel room.

The unit itself is surprisingly spacious, and I really appreciated how they’ve kept that authentic Hawaiian condo vibe without it feeling dated. You’ll find a full kitchen that’s actually functional (not just for show), which comes in handy since Kapalua can get pricey for every meal out. The lanai faces toward the golf course, and in the mornings you can watch the early golfers tee off while you’re having coffee – there’s something oddly peaceful about it. What really sold me though was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the main Kapalua Bay Hotel action that you don’t get the pool party noise, but close enough that you can still hit up Merriman’s or the Plantation House when you want a nice dinner without driving all over the island.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to explore the northwest side of Maui properly. You’re maybe ten minutes to Napili Bay (which has better snorkeling than the more famous spots, in my opinion), and about the same to Honolua Bay when the surf’s up. I actually ended up spending more time at these local beaches than the resort ones because they’re less crowded and, well, more Hawaiian somehow. Parking’s never an issue here either – something you’ll appreciate if you’ve ever tried to find a spot at some of the more popular Wailea resorts. The whole complex feels well-maintained without being overly manicured, if that makes sense. There’s tropical landscaping everywhere, but it doesn’t feel like Disney’s version of Hawaii. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend stopping at the Kapalua Store for groceries right when you arrive since it closes earlier than you’d expect and the next closest market is back toward Lahaina. With a 9.0 rating, you’re definitely getting solid value here – it’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the resort markup, and you’ve got the flexibility to really live like a local for a week or two.

  Alles wurde bereitgestellt. Von den Schnorcheln, über die Schwimmhilfen, die Kühltaschen und Strandstühle war alles im Haus zu finden, ebenso ist die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet, u.a. mit einem Eiswürfel- und Wasserspender am Kühlschrank.
  Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig (der Eingang liegt ebenerdig, die Terrasse jedoch nicht) und ruhig gelegen. Zu den meisten Attraktionen benötigt man ein Auto, wofür ein eigener, überdachter Parkplatz zur Verfügung gestellt wird.
  Auch die gemeinschaftlich genutzten Bereiche (Pools, Grill) sind sehr sauber und die Anlage im allgemeinen sehr gepflegt.
