Plus, you’re close enough to walk to Brennecke’s Beach – which locals will tell you is actually better for boogie boarding than the more famous spots – but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with tour groups at 6 AM. Parking is straightforward too, none of that circling-the-block nonsense you get with some of the beachfront places. I stayed here during peak season and never had trouble finding a spot, which honestly surprised me. The whole complex feels sort of tucked away even though you’re really just minutes from everything – Koloa town for groceries and that surprisingly good fish taco place, the string of south shore beaches where you can snorkel without fighting crowds. It’s the kind of place where you actually end up extending your stay if you can swing it.
