But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The heated pool was the first thing that caught my attention (and trust me, you’ll appreciate it more than you think, especially during those cooler winter months when the ocean feels a bit too brisk for a morning dip).

What really sets this spot apart is the beach access – I mean, we’re talking about Molokai here, where finding decent accommodations near the water can be tricky. The property sits close enough to the shore that you can actually hear the waves at night, which honestly beats any white noise machine. During my stay, I’d start mornings by the pool with coffee, then wander down to the beach once the sun got higher. The whole setup feels refreshingly unpretentious compared to those massive resort complexes you’ll find on the other islands. Parking was never an issue, which might sound minor but anyone who’s dealt with crowded Hawaiian accommodations knows what a relief that is. The rooms themselves are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but everything works and the AC keeps up with the humid days just fine.

Here’s what I really appreciated: this isn’t trying to be something it’s not. You’re not getting a luxury resort experience, but you are getting genuine island living without the tourist circus. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me – it delivers exactly what it promises, and on an island like Molokai where your options are pretty limited, that consistency matters a lot. If you’re the type who needs room service and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your vibe. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring Molokai’s incredible hiking trails and empty beaches, with the bonus of coming home to a warm pool after a long day in the sun, then yeah – this place hits the sweet spot between authentic and comfortable.

  Great central location for what I wanted. Close to downtown & allowed me to explore Molokai easily. West end is great for swimming & basking in the sun, but then everything is a long drive, so happy to be able to be “local” in Kaunakakai.

  Die Ferienwohnung liegt in der Molokai Shores Anlage. Die Lage ist sehr gut unweit von Kaunakakai. Die Shores Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und schön angelegt. Die Ferienwohnung selber hat eine gute Größe und bequeme Matratzen.
