Look, I’ll be straight with you – when I first pulled up to Kihei Kai Nani, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the exterior. It’s got that classic Maui condo vibe from the ’80s, you know what I mean? But honestly, location trumps everything here, and this place absolutely nails it. Two hundred steps to Kamaole II Beach isn’t marketing fluff – I actually counted one morning when I was feeling curious (okay, it was more like 180, but who’s keeping track?).

What really won me over was how local this place feels. You’re not staying in some sterile resort bubble – you’re living like someone who actually moved to Kihei. The morning routine becomes grabbing coffee and walking down to KAM II, which is honestly one of the better family beaches on the south shore. Less crowded than KAM I, better facilities than KAM III, and the snorkeling on the north end is surprisingly decent if you time it right. I mean, you’re not going to see whale sharks or anything, but there’s enough fish action to keep you entertained. The locals surf the break out front in the mornings, and there’s something pretty satisfying about watching them while you’re having your breakfast on whatever lanai you end up with.

The thing about this place – and maybe this is why it’s got such a crazy high rating for a 3-star spot – is that it doesn’t try to be fancy, it just works. The units I’ve seen are clean and functional, though definitely showing their age in that “Hawaii condo” way where everything’s a little sun-faded but comfortable. Parking’s never been an issue, which is actually a huge deal in Kihei (anyone who’s circled Kalama Park for twenty minutes knows what I’m talking about). You’re also walking distance to some solid food trucks – there’s this plate lunch spot that does incredible garlic shrimp, and the ABC Store is right there for when you inevitably forget sunscreen or whatever. The whole strip along South Kihei Road can get a bit busy during peak season, but honestly, the trade-off for being this close to the beach is worth dealing with a little traffic noise. Plus, once you’re down on the sand, all that fades away anyway. If you’re the type who needs resort amenities and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to actually experience Kihei instead of just visiting it – and save some serious money while doing it – this place makes a lot of sense.

  Wir wurden von der Anbieterin via Booking.com sehr freundlich begrüsst. Das Appartement ist an guter und ruhiger Lage. Auch steht ein privater Gemeinschaftspool zur Verfügung, welcher für uns beim Abreisetag ideal war.
  Das Appartement war sehr sauber, geräumig und äusserst liebevoll dekoriert. Ein grosses Lob von mir und meiner Freundin für den Style. Die Küche ist wie alle anderen Möbel sehr modern.
  Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an wohl gefühlt.

  El departamento tiene absolutamente todo, incluyendo artículos para la playa ( reposeras, kit de snorkel, juguetes para niños y hasta una tabla de surf!). Cada detalle de decoracion es increíble! Tiene un balcón hermoso donde poder tomar algo tranquilo por la noche o desayunar.
  Está en una zona hermosa, cerca de varios restaurantes y shops.
  Bonnie súper amable desde el primer momento, atenta siempre a lo que necesitábamos.
