The beach park is right across the street – locals use it constantly, so you know it’s the real deal – and the lagoon area is surprisingly good for families with little kids since the water stays shallow and calm. Parking can be a bit of a dance during busy seasons, but the resort staff generally knows how to work around it. The only thing that occasionally bugs me is how the units can vary pretty dramatically in terms of updates and furniture quality, so you might want to check recent photos if that stuff matters to you. But honestly, when you’re sitting on that balcony watching the Friday night fireworks from Hilton Hawaiian Village, or catching the weekend canoe races from your own private perch, those minor details fade pretty quickly.
