Maui Vista 1121 Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Maui Vista 1121, I’ll be honest — it’s not going to wow you with flashy exteriors or marble lobbies. This three-star condo property in Kihei keeps things refreshingly straightforward, which actually turned out to be exactly what I needed. The building has that classic Hawaiian condo vibe from the ’80s, but it’s well-maintained and sits in what locals know is one of the best spots on the south shore.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about Maui Vista’s location — it’s genuinely fantastic, and I mean that. You’re right across from Kamaole Beach Park I, which is hands down one of the best family beaches on the island. I could literally see the ocean from the property, and it’s maybe a two-minute walk to soft sand and calm waters. The location score of 8.6 makes total sense when you realize you can hit Foodland for groceries, grab coffee at Java Kai, and still be at the beach before most people finish breakfast. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly between Wailea’s upscale dining and the more laid-back spots in central Kihei.
The Space Itself
The apartment feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than a hotel room — and I mean that in the best way possible. You get a full kitchen with everything you actually need (not just a mini-fridge and hope), which honestly saved me a fortune on dining out every meal. The living area opens to a lanai where I spent most evenings with a beer, watching the sunset paint the sky. It’s not fancy, but it’s comfortable and clean, with that slightly worn-in feeling that somehow makes vacation rentals more relaxing than pristine hotel rooms.
What Works for Couples
I can totally see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about having your own little Hawaiian hideaway without the resort crowds. The beach across the street rarely gets packed, so you can actually find a quiet spot to yourselves. Evenings on the lanai feel private, and when you want to venture out, you’re close enough to Wailea for a fancy dinner but far enough from the tourist chaos to decompress. The parking situation is straightforward too, which eliminates one of those little travel stresses that can derail a romantic getaway.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
What really struck me about Maui Vista 1121 is how it nails the essentials without any pretense. You get incredible beach access, a functional space that feels like home, and you’re positioned in the sweet spot of South Maui where everything good is within reach. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a solid, well-located place to base your Maui adventures. For the price point, especially considering that beachfront location, it delivers exactly what most people actually want from a Hawaiian vacation rental.

Location was wonderful.
Very close to beach which made it quite simple to catch sunset or just enjoy a quick dip to cool off.
Great restaurants a short walk away in either direction. Beautiful grassy parks with shade and facilities very close were great for picnic, people watching, wave watching and cooling down. Someone before us had left chairs and umbrella which was nice.
Many shops.nearby for essentials or souvenirs.
Apartment looked quite large with the entire mirrored wall. Kitchen had almost everything needed.
It was nice to have a washer/dryer.
TV options for front room and bedroom were nice, remotes needed new batteries.Sanku from United States (1/10)
