Maui What a Wonderful World Bed & Breakfast Overview

First Impressions

You know what struck me first about Maui What a Wonderful World Bed & Breakfast? The name actually lives up to itself — and honestly, that’s rare these days. Tucked away on a quiet residential street in Wailea, this three-star gem feels more like staying at your most well-traveled friend’s house than a typical hotel. The moment I pulled into their free parking area (which, let me tell you, is gold in this part of Maui), I could already sense this was going to be different from the massive resort complexes that dominate the coastline.

The Sweet Spot Location

Here’s the thing about Wailea — it’s where locals go when they want to feel like tourists in their own backyard. The B&B sits just far enough from the main resort strip to feel peaceful, but you’re still within easy reach of some of Maui’s most stunning beaches. I mean, Wailea Beach and Grand Wailea are practically around the corner, and the shopping at The Shops at Wailea is a quick drive when you need that afternoon coffee fix. What I really appreciated was how the neighborhood itself felt authentic — you’ll see local families going about their day, not just endless streams of rental cars.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d hope for from a well-run bed and breakfast. Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated without being fussy about it. But honestly? The bed was the real star — I’m talking about the kind of sleep where you wake up confused about what time zone you’re in. The owners clearly invested in quality mattresses and linens, which makes such a difference after long days exploring the island. The space felt homey but not cramped, with enough room to spread out your beach gear and actually unpack for a few days.

Morning Rituals

Breakfast here isn’t just fuel for the day — it’s actually an event worth waking up for. The owners serve it up with genuine aloha spirit, and you can tell they take pride in using local ingredients when possible. I found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual, partly because the food was good, but mostly because the whole atmosphere just invites you to slow down. It’s the kind of place where you might end up chatting with other guests about their island adventures, getting tips you’d never find in guidebooks.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back here — and I can see why couples especially fall for this place — is how it strikes that perfect balance between comfort and character. You’re not paying resort prices, but you’re also not sacrificing quality or location. The personal touches matter: owners who actually care about your experience, reliable Wi-Fi for those necessary check-ins with reality, and that blessed free parking I mentioned earlier. It’s the sort of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special, even though plenty of smart travelers have already figured out this secret. For the price point and the genuine hospitality, it’s honestly hard to beat in this part of the island.

This bed and breakfast was located close to the beaches and The Shops of Wailea. It was very easy to get around and the host was always support responsive. We were able to use their washer/dryer which was really helpful since we were continuing our trip to Oahu.

If you are going to Hawaii, Maui is the place to be. If you are going to Maui then this place is perfect! We couldn’t get over how lovely the stay was here!
Lovely room, great kitchen and sitting space, great kitchen facilities, amazing back garden for sitting, stunning upstairs views for sunset! Eva was friendly and lovely, helpful and kind! (Bonus adorable dogs if you want company, really well behaved and adorable). Washing machine and dryer was just what we needed and available for use. Both bedsides had wireless chargers that I now want in my house. Contact free check in and parking. Genuinely perfect for an amazing stay!

Eva also allows you to borrow different things for the beach or to do laundry. It really is a great place to spend your holiday. A bonus point for us was Eva's cute dogs
