First thing that hits you when you walk in – and I’m talking the second you open that door – is this massive wall of windows showcasing the Big Island coastline. The corner location means you’re getting views from two directions, which honestly makes such a difference. You can see the golf course rolling down toward the ocean, and depending on the time of day, the light just does these incredible things across the water. I spent way too much morning coffee time just standing there watching the golfers make their way around the course below. The unit itself feels more like a high-end condo than typical vacation rental furniture – you know what I mean, none of that scratchy tropical print stuff that screams “rental property.” The kitchen is actually functional (novel concept, right?), and they’ve got real plates and decent knives, which matters if you’re planning to hit the local farmers market.

Location-wise, you’re right in the heart of the Mauna Lani resort area, which puts you close to some seriously good restaurants without the chaos of Kona or the tourist circus that Waikiki can become. The Fairmont and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel are both just down the road, so you can hop between their restaurants and bars pretty easily. Parking was straightforward – none of that hunting-for-a-spot drama you get at some Big Island properties. The whole Palm Villas complex feels well-maintained without being stuffy, and it’s quiet enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open to catch those trade winds. I will say the check-in process is a bit scattered since you’re dealing with individual owners rather than a front desk, but once you’re settled, it’s smooth sailing. The pool area gets busy during peak season (think December through March), but there’s something nice about having that resort feel without resort prices and crowds. If you’re the type who likes to explore, you’re perfectly positioned for day trips up to Waimea or down to Volcano National Park, but honestly, with views like these and that infinity pool situation, you might find yourself perfectly content staying put.

  Very large, well-laid put space. Perfect for the 3 couples we were. We didn't cook, but the kitchen was well outfitted and had an additional outdoor kitchen. There was plenty of sitting space for everyone. We chose it because each couple could have their own bathroom and there were laundry facilities. The garage had many items for the beach (chairs, boards, snorkel gear, etc). The neighborhood was quiet. Had a great pool and hot tub. There is a grocery and a couple of restaurants within 5min, but plan on driving 30+ min to get anywhere else. Loved being on the lava fields and walked through them a few times.

  We loved the layout, perfect for three couples, and the lanai and balcony. The location/walkability to beautiful beaches and access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club and cabanas was amazing.

  Wonderful accommodations with plenty of extras. Well stocked kitchen with up to date appliances and cookware. The unit has beautiful views all around and close to everything. Towels and a multitude of beach stuff was available to use. We enjoyed exploring the trail through the historic site to the fishponds to the private beach. The unit provided a detailed book about everything you can do. Communication was excellent and I never had to wait more than a few hours for a response. Definitely would highly recommend.

  La résidence offre une piscine magnifique ainsi qu’un accès au beach club (la plage est super !).
  La maison se distingue par sa taille généreuse, idéale pour un séjour en groupe.
  La cuisine est bien équipée, ce qui facilite la préparation des repas sur place (ps : ça serait bien de mettre une notice d’utilisation pour le plan de cuisson et la hotte de ventilation)
  Nous avons également apprécié la possibilité d’utiliser les équipements de plage stockés dans le garage.
  Enfin, la communication avec le propriétaire a été fluide et réactive lorsque nous avons rencontré des problèmes dans la maison (pas de wifi à notre arrivée et machine à laver le linge qui ne fonctionnait pas).
