Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first pulled into N24 Waikoloa Fairway Villas, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how those golf course properties can sometimes feel a bit sterile? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. The villas are tucked right along the fairway, and there’s something genuinely relaxing about waking up to that view of perfectly manicured greens stretching toward the distant mountains. I mean, even if you’re not a golfer (I’m definitely not), there’s something peaceful about watching the early morning players make their way across the course while you’re sipping coffee on your lanai.
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both upscale and unpretentious at the same time. The units themselves are spacious – like, actually spacious, not just “hotel spacious” – with full kitchens that you’ll actually want to use. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, well, the grocery stores in Waikoloa Village aren’t far, and honestly, resort breakfast prices can be brutal. The furnishings have that Hawaii contemporary vibe without going overboard on the tropical theme, if you know what I mean. No plastic flamingos here, just clean lines and lots of natural light streaming through those big sliding doors.
The location is sort of perfect if you want to be near everything without being in the middle of the tourist chaos. You’re close enough to the Kings’ Shops and Queens’ MarketPlace that you can walk over for dinner (though it’s a bit of a hike in the heat), but far enough away that you don’t get the constant stream of resort traffic. The beach access situation requires a short drive – about ten minutes to Anaeho’omalu Bay, which locals just call A-Bay. Trust me, it’s worth the drive because that beach is gorgeous and way less crowded than some of the hotel beaches further south. Parking there fills up fast though, so get there early if you’re going on weekends.
One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You might hear the occasional sprinkler system kicking on (this is a golf course, after all), but nothing like the party noise you get at some of the big resorts. The pool area is nice too – not huge, but clean and usually pretty peaceful during the day. I did notice the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some of the units, which might matter if you’re trying to work remotely.
The whole property has this relaxed, residential feel that makes it easy to settle in for more than just a quick vacation. I saw families who were clearly there for extended stays, and it makes sense – the villas give you room to spread out and actually live a little instead of just existing in a hotel room. At a solid 4-star level with consistently good reviews, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between resort amenities and condo flexibility on the Big Island, this place is definitely worth considering.
