First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Napili Point in Kahana, I’ll be honest — it doesn’t scream “resort” from the outside. This three-star property has more of a low-key, residential vibe that actually works in its favor. You’re not dealing with massive tour groups or crowded lobbies here, which I found refreshing after staying at some of Maui’s busier spots. The building sits quietly among the palm trees, and there’s something genuinely peaceful about the whole setup.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about Kahana — you’re right between the tourist chaos of Kaanapali and the remote isolation of Kapalua. Napili Bay is literally a five-minute walk down the hill, and honestly, it’s one of those beaches that locals still use because it hasn’t been completely overrun yet. The snorkeling there is solid, especially near the rocks on the north side. You’ve got Honolua Bay about ten minutes north if you want even better snorkeling, and the drive to Lahaina takes maybe fifteen minutes when traffic cooperates.

The Room Experience

My room was simple but functional — think clean lines, decent-sized lanai, and everything you actually need without the fancy extras that jack up the price. The kitchen setup was basic but worked fine for making coffee and storing leftovers from those massive plate lunches you’ll inevitably order. What really sold me was the view — not every unit has ocean views, but mine looked out over the coastline toward Molokai. The air conditioning worked well (crucial during those humid afternoons), and the bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept through the night.

Daily Life Here

There’s no on-site restaurant, but that’s not necessarily a problem. The Gazebo is about a ten-minute walk and serves what might be the best macadamia nut pancakes on the island — just expect to wait in line. For groceries, Times Supermarket in Kahana Gateway is close enough that you don’t need to drive to Costco every time you need milk. The property has a small pool that’s perfect for cooling off after beach time, and there’s parking right outside your unit, which sounds basic but you’ll appreciate it when you’re hauling beach gear around.

Why Guests Love It

What makes Napili Point work is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. You’re paying for location and simplicity, not marble bathrooms or concierge service. The couples who stay here seem to get that — it’s rated highly for romantic trips because you can actually relax without feeling like you need to be “doing” something every minute. The property is well-maintained, the staff is helpful when you need them, and you’re close enough to everything that matters. I mean, when you can walk to Napili Bay for sunset and drive to Haleakala for sunrise, what more do you really need?

  Super beliggenhed, både i kompekset men også med fantastisk udsigt til vandet, hvor vi dagligt så havskilpadder og flere gange hvaler. fornuftig lejlighedsstørrelse til 2 par/familie på 4. Endvidere en af Maui's flotteste koralrev med masser af fisk lige ud for resortet.
