Honestly, when I first pulled up to Napoli Shores, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, the name literally tells you there’s no resort fees or daily housekeeping, which usually means you’re trading amenities for savings. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially when you’re staying right on one of Maui’s most gorgeous stretches of beach.

The property sits right on Napili Bay, and I’m talking like thirty steps from your lanai to the sand. This isn’t some massive resort complex where you need a golf cart to get anywhere – it’s actually more like a collection of low-rise buildings that feel almost residential, which works perfectly if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the island anyway. The units themselves are pretty spacious condos with full kitchens, and honestly, after eating out for the first few days, I was grateful to have a real fridge and stove. There’s something satisfying about grabbing fresh fish from the Honokowai Market (just a five-minute drive) and grilling it while watching the sunset. The trade-off is that you’re doing your own dishes and making your own bed, but the units stay clean enough that it never felt like a burden.

What really sold me on this place – and why I’d actually come back – is the location within Napili itself. You’re walking distance to the Napili Market for coffee and snacks, and Merriman’s is right there if you want one fancy dinner without driving to Lahaina. But the real gem is the beach access. Napili Bay has this protected, crescent-shaped shoreline that’s perfect for swimming even when other beaches are choppy, and the snorkeling around the rocks on the north end is surprisingly good. I saw green sea turtles there almost every morning. The beach can get crowded with day visitors around noon, but early mornings and late afternoons feel like you have your own private slice of paradise. Parking can be tight during peak season – I learned to grab a spot early and just walk everywhere rather than moving the car multiple times a day. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any hidden surprises or disappointments.

  We booked 7 nights and loved our upgrade to an ocean view! Nice studio amenities with a full kitchen for cooking, as well as outdoor grills near the pool. Onsite snorkel, SUP, and water gear rentals with Maui Water Works, who were super friendly and helpful for me to teach my elderly mom how to snorkel. The property is oceanfront Napili Bay. This area has a retro Maui vibe which I adore. Gorgeous and great for kids, elders, and honeymooners. Great little reef makes for good snorkeling in Napili Bay, too! 10/10 perfect, I’ll be back again and again

  The location was great for snorkeling nearby and for walking the Kapalua Coastal trail. There are also plenty of restaurants about a ten minute drive away. The two pools and hot tub on the property are great, and it was very convenient to rent snorkel gear at the snorkel shop on site. We had an oceanfront room and the views were stunning! The sunsets and sunrises here every day were amazing and I’d definitely stay here again if I could stay in an oceanfront room again.

  The resort is excellent. The room has a perfect space for four people. The kitchen is 100% equipped. Moreover, the resort has barbecues, a pool, a jacuzzi, and 5 minutes walk to one of the beaches.
