But stepping into this place, you immediately get why couples rate it so highly. The building has this understated elegance that feels more like a private residence than a typical hotel, and the lobby area opens up to views that make you stop mid-conversation. It’s one of those places where you know within five minutes that you’ve made the right choice.

Location & Neighborhood

Princeville is honestly one of the best spots on Kauai if you want to feel like you’re in paradise without being completely isolated. Nihilani 31A sits right in the heart of it all — you’re walking distance to some incredible beaches (Hideaways Beach is just a short stroll), and the Princeville Shopping Center is close enough that you can grab groceries or hit up Foodland without driving. What I love about this area is that you get the resort feel without the resort crowds. The St. Regis is nearby if you want to splurge on dinner, but you also have access to more local spots that tourists often miss.

The Space

The unit itself feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice vacation home than staying in a hotel room. These condos are spacious — I mean, you actually have room to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The kitchen is fully equipped, which is huge when you’re staying somewhere like Kauai where eating out every meal can get expensive fast. The lanai (that’s the balcony, for those not familiar with Hawaiian terms) became my morning coffee spot, and depending on which unit you get, you might have ocean views or garden views. Either way, you’re waking up in paradise.

Amenities & Activities

The pool area is where this place really shines — it’s not massive, but it’s perfectly sized and rarely crowded. There’s something about having a pool that feels almost private when you’re used to fighting for lounge chairs at bigger resorts. The tennis court is a nice touch too, though honestly, with Hanalei Bay just minutes away, you’ll probably spend most of your time at the beach. What’s great is that you’re positioned perfectly for exploring the north shore — the Na Pali Coast boat tours leave from nearby Hanalei, and you’re close to some of the island’s best hiking trails.

Why Guests Love It

I think what makes Nihilani 31A work so well, especially for couples, is that it strikes this perfect balance between having everything you need and still feeling intimate. You’re not dealing with huge crowds or long waits for anything, but you’re also not stuck in the middle of nowhere. The fact that recent guests consistently rate the location so highly tells you something — this isn’t just about having a nice place to sleep. You’re in one of the most beautiful spots in Hawaii, with easy access to beaches, restaurants, and activities, but you also have a peaceful retreat to come back to. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax, which is rarer than you’d think when you’re traveling.

  Complete woning. Veel spullen voor naar het strand te leen. Zelfs kruiden, aluminiumfolie etc in de kasten. Hele fijne bedden. Zeer compleet!! In een rustige, veilige wijk.
