What really got me was the little details – good shower pressure (seriously, why is this so hard to find?), blackout curtains that actually block light, and enough outlets near the bed for all your devices without having to unplug the lamp.

The location is where things get interesting though. You’re right on the water, obviously, but you’re also close enough to walk to some really solid local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this little coffee place about three blocks inland that the front desk guy mentioned – turns out it’s where half the locals grab their morning brew, and their pastries are incredible. Parking was way easier than I expected too, which was a relief because I’d heard horror stories about beach town parking situations. The building itself is well-maintained without feeling stuffy, and the other guests seemed to be a good mix of families and couples, so it never felt too rowdy or too quiet. I will say the elevators can be a bit slow during peak check-in times, but that’s pretty minor when you consider everything else. What really sealed the deal for me was the sunset view – I’ve stayed at plenty of “oceanfront” places where you need to crane your neck to see water, but here you get this unobstructed view that changes throughout the day. The whole experience felt like staying at a friend’s really nice beach place rather than some impersonal hotel room, and that’s exactly what I was hoping for.
