The rooms are spacious, actually spacious, not “spacious for Hawaii” which usually means you can open your suitcase without hitting the bed. And the lanais – well, if you get an oceanfront unit, you’ll spend half your morning just standing there with coffee watching the whales during winter months or the windsurfers year-round.

What really sells me on this place though is the location knowledge the staff has. Check-in was smooth both times, and they actually gave me useful tips – like how Kalama Park is a two-minute walk if you want to barbecue your own fish, or that the best shave ice spot (Ululani’s) is basically around the corner on South Kihei Road. Parking’s included, which saves you about $25 a day compared to the big resorts up north. The pool area gets morning sun but afternoon shade from the building, which sounds weird but actually works perfectly – you can swim in the heat of the day without feeling like you’re in a solar oven. There’s this constant trade wind breeze that comes through the property too, so even when it’s 85 degrees, it doesn’t feel oppressive.

I’ll be honest, it’s not perfect – the elevators are a bit slow (take the stairs if you’re on the second floor), and the wi-fi can get spotty during pau hana time when everyone’s streaming. But those are minor things when you’re waking up to that view every morning. The rating speaks for itself – I’ve never given a 10 to anything, but this place just gets Hawaii right. It’s not trying to be a massive resort with a dozen restaurants and activities coordinators. It’s just a really well-run property where you can actually relax and feel like you’re experiencing Maui, not some sanitized version of it. If you’re looking for that authentic island feel without sacrificing comfort, this is your spot. Just book early – word’s getting out about this place.

  The unit was super clean, furnished and decorated beautifully, totally updated with high end appliances, everything we needed was supplied to us. It was like it was newly built. Thanks for all the beach equipment. Awesome place
