You know what struck me first about this place? The name actually delivers – and I mean that literally. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels that promise “spectacular views” and you end up staring at a parking lot, but Oceanside genuinely has that wow factor when you walk into the lobby. The whole front of the building opens up to these floor-to-ceiling windows, and honestly, the ocean just stretches out forever. It’s one of those moments where you stop dragging your suitcase and just… pause.

The pool area is where this place really shines though. I spent most of my mornings there with coffee (the lobby coffee is actually decent, which is rarer than it should be), and it’s got this perfect setup where you’re elevated just enough to catch ocean breezes without getting sandblasted. The poolside service is solid – not fancy resort-level, but the staff remembers your drink order and they’re quick about it. What I loved is how they’ve arranged the lounge chairs in these little clusters, so even when it’s busy, you don’t feel like you’re packed in like sardines. Fair warning though, the pool gets pretty lively around 2 PM when families start showing up, so if you’re looking for that peaceful swim, hit it early.

The rooms are well… they’re comfortable 4-star rooms. Nothing groundbreaking, but the beds are actually good (I’m picky about mattresses), and most importantly, the AC works properly – you’d be surprised how many beachside places struggle with that. The real selling point is stepping out onto your balcony in the morning. I mean, I’m not usually the type to wake up early on vacation, but I found myself getting up just to watch the sunrise with room service coffee. The sound of waves is constant but not overwhelming, sort of like having the world’s best white noise machine. Parking was surprisingly painless too – they’ve got a decent-sized lot and I never had to circle around looking for a spot, even on weekend evenings when the nearby restaurants get busy. Check-in was smooth, maybe ten minutes tops, and the front desk staff actually knew the area well enough to give solid dinner recommendations that weren’t just the usual tourist traps. The 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s not perfect, but it does what it promises really well, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
