Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of Waikiki hotels over the years, and the Regency on Beachwalk honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk up, it doesn’t scream “luxury resort” like some of the massive towers nearby – it’s got this more intimate, residential feel that I actually prefer. The Beachwalk location is clutch because you’re literally steps from the sand, but you’re not dealing with the absolute chaos of Kalakaua Avenue traffic and crowds. You know what I mean? It’s like being in the heart of everything but having a quieter escape route.
The rooms are solid – I mean, they’re not going to blow your mind with cutting-edge design, but they’re thoughtfully laid out and actually functional. The kitchenettes are legit useful (not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation), which saves you from eating every meal out because, let’s be honest, Waikiki restaurant prices can get ridiculous. What really got me was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living in a space for a week. Good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and – this might sound weird – but the ice machine on every floor actually works and doesn’t sound like it’s grinding metal at 2 AM.
The pool area isn’t massive, but it catches the afternoon sun perfectly and never felt overcrowded when I was there in shoulder season. Staff genuinely seems to care about what they’re doing, which you don’t always get at mid-tier properties. Check-in was smooth, they actually listened when I mentioned I’m a light sleeper and got me away from the elevator, and housekeeping was consistent without being intrusive. The 8.3 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what matters. Parking is valet only (around $35 a day, I think?), but honestly, once you’re there, you probably won’t need your car much anyway. Beach access is ridiculously easy, you’re a quick walk to the International Market Place if you need to grab anything, and the whole Beachwalk strip has this laid-back vibe that feels more like local Hawaii than tourist trap Hawaii. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

Just a couple of paces away from the busy part of Waikiki, it was perfect in location with an ABC store right next door and two great shaved ice places across the street and down the block. And the staff are wonderful! Professional and friendly!

Very friendly & helpful staff. Jacques, Margery & Zac at the front desk were always so willing to answer any questions & assist us.
We also liked that we could use the pool & facilities at the nearby Outrigger Reef, just a short walking distance .
The apartment was a great size & had everything we needed.Would definitely stay there again!
