Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about the Residence Inn Kapolei? It’s actually in a pretty sweet spot that most tourists never think to look at. I mean, everyone’s fighting over Waikiki hotels, but this place sits out in Kapolei where you get that authentic Oahu vibe without the tourist circus. It’s maybe twenty minutes from the airport – and honestly, after those long flights from the mainland, that shorter drive is everything.
The whole setup here feels more like temporary apartment living than hotel staying, which is exactly what you want for anything longer than a weekend. Full kitchens in every suite, and I’m talking real kitchens with actual counter space and full-size fridges. The living areas are surprisingly roomy too – you can actually spread out your stuff without tripping over suitcases. What really sold me though was stepping out onto those lanais in the morning. You’re not getting ocean views (let’s be real about the 3-star thing), but there’s something really peaceful about looking out over the suburban Hawaiian landscape with your coffee. The mountains in the distance, palm trees swaying… it hits different than staring at another hotel tower.
Location-wise, you’re golden for exploring the west side without dealing with Honolulu traffic every single day. Ko Olina beaches are maybe ten minutes away – and honestly, those lagoons are just as gorgeous as anything on the North Shore but way less crowded. There’s a decent shopping center within walking distance if you need groceries or forgot sunscreen, and the locals at the Foodland actually know their stuff about the best snorkeling spots. Parking’s free and plentiful, which sounds boring until you’ve paid $40 a night to park in Waikiki. The staff here seems genuinely happy to help too – not that forced aloha you get at some of the bigger resorts, but actual useful advice about avoiding traffic or where to catch the best sunset. I will say the pool area gets pretty busy with families in the evenings, so if you’re looking for quiet pool time, mornings are your friend. Overall though, for that 8.5 rating, you’re getting solid value and a chance to experience Hawaii like you’re actually living here for a bit, not just passing through on the tourist conveyor belt.
Hotels in Hawaii offer guests the perfect blend of tropical luxury and modern comfort, with many featuring surfing concierge services and traditional Hawaiian spa treatments to enhance the authentic island experience.

Breakfast is very basic and not many varieties, everyday the same things
Good things they have oranges and bananas since i like fresh fruits for bfast.
They could have changed the protein to ham and bacon from time to time instead of pork/chicken links and patties all the timeAlessia from Italy (8/10)
I liked that the room was spacious, with a huge bathroom with huge shower. The bed was comfortable and there was a fully equipped kitchen.
