Royal Kahana #319 Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked into Royal Kahana #319, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star condo — but this place completely surprised me. The unit sits right on the beach in Kahana, and you know what? Sometimes location really is everything. The moment you step onto that lanai and see the ocean stretching out in front of you, all those fancy hotel amenities suddenly seem less important.
The Space That Works
This isn’t your typical hotel room — it’s actually a full condo setup that feels like someone’s well-loved vacation home. The kitchen is properly equipped (I mean, you can actually cook here, not just reheat leftovers), and there’s enough space to spread out without tripping over your luggage. The furnishings are comfortable rather than flashy, which I appreciated after staying in too many places that prioritize Instagram-worthy decor over actual comfort. The living area opens right onto the lanai, so you’re basically living with the ocean as your backdrop.
That Unbeatable Location
Here’s the thing about Kahana — it’s perfectly positioned between the busier scenes of Kaanapali and Kapalua, but without all the crowds. You’re literally steps from the beach, and I spent most mornings just walking along the shore before the day got busy. The snorkeling right out front is surprisingly good too, especially near the rocky areas. Having parking right on-site might not sound exciting, but trust me, after driving around Maui looking for a spot elsewhere, you’ll appreciate not having to circle blocks or pay resort fees just to park your rental car.
What Makes It Special
I think what really sets this place apart is how it feels authentic rather than manufactured. The trade winds flow through naturally, so you’re not constantly running the AC, and the sound of the waves becomes this constant, soothing background noise. The building itself is older, sure, but it’s well-maintained and has that relaxed Maui vibe that newer resorts sometimes miss. Plus, being in a condo means you can grab groceries and make your own meals — which honestly saved me a fortune compared to eating out for every meal.
Why Guests Love It
The rating speaks for itself, but I get why couples especially love this spot. There’s something romantic about having your own private slice of beachfront without the chaos of a big resort. You can watch the sunset from your lanai with a glass of wine, or take those early morning beach walks when it’s just you and the occasional jogger. The fact that recent guests rated the location a perfect 10 isn’t surprising — when you’re this close to the water with easy access to both Lahaina and the upcountry areas, you really can’t ask for much more. It’s the kind of place where you actually relax instead of just taking photos to prove you were somewhere beautiful.

Reviews of Royal Kahana #319
Marques from United States (9/10)
We loved that we did not have to have a key card to open the door. We were provided a code beforehand. We also loved that everything we needed was available for use. From kitchenware to pool items and more. The view from the balcony was simply beautiful! To be that close and be able to walk on the beach and look at the sunset. It was amazing and such a blessing. We were not too far from shopping places and restaurants.
