You know what struck me first about Royal Kuhio 1704? Those mountain views are absolutely no joke – I mean, you’re right in the thick of Waikiki but somehow you’ve got this gorgeous backdrop of the Ko’olau Mountains framing your morning coffee. The studio itself is honestly more spacious than I expected (and I’ve stayed in plenty of Waikiki places where you can barely swing a cat). It’s one of those situations where the photos don’t quite capture how the space actually flows – there’s room to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase.

The location is pretty sweet if you know Waikiki at all. You’re close enough to Kalakaua Avenue that you can walk to basically everything – Duke’s, the International Market Place, all those beachfront spots – but you’re not dealing with the constant street noise that comes with being right on the main drag. I actually appreciated that trade-off more than I thought I would. The building itself has that older Waikiki vibe (not fancy-resort-new, but solid and well-maintained), and honestly, the elevator situation isn’t terrible, which… if you’ve stayed in some of these older high-rises, you know that’s worth mentioning. Check-in was pretty straightforward, though I’ll say the whole key situation is a bit old school – actual keys, not those card things.

Here’s the thing about this place that I think people should know: it’s got that “local resident” feel rather than the tourist-factory atmosphere you get at some of the bigger properties. You’ll probably run into people who’ve been coming here for years, maybe even some actual residents. The mountain views really do change throughout the day – morning light hits those ridges in a way that makes you want to just sit there with your coffee for way longer than you planned. And while it’s not beachfront (obviously), you’re maybe a five-minute walk to the sand, which means you get the best of both worlds without paying those crazy oceanfront rates. The only thing I’d mention is that street parking can be a bit of a hunt if you’ve got a rental car – there are some paid lots nearby, but nothing super convenient. All in all though, it’s one of those spots where you feel like you’re actually staying in Waikiki rather than just visiting it, if that makes sense.

  運河側の部屋のため、静かで眺望もよかったです。また、17階の高さ故か、窓を開けていても、ハエ・蚊などの虫は入ってきませんでした。管理会社さんも日本人観光客の対応に慣れておられました。
