soulfactory Hawaii Overview

First Impressions

Walking into soulfactory Hawaii, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical Waikiki hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. The three-star property has this laid-back, almost boutique-y vibe that feels refreshingly authentic in an area where so many places try too hard. It’s tucked away on Kānekapōlei Street, which means you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in the tourist chaos that hits some of the beachfront strips.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about the location — couples absolutely love it here, rating it 9.3, and I get why. You’re in what’s genuinely considered the top-rated area in Honolulu, with that excellent 9.2 location score, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The beach is an easy walk, you’ve got solid dining options nearby, and — this is huge — there’s private parking on site. Anyone who’s tried to park in Waikiki knows that’s basically gold. You can actually explore the island without worrying about where you’ll dump your rental car when you get back.

The Rooms and Vibe

The accommodations at soulfactory Hawaii lean into that relaxed Hawaiian aesthetic without going overboard with the tiki torch thing. Rooms are clean and comfortable, though don’t expect bells and whistles — this is a three-star spot that knows what it is. What I appreciate is how they’ve managed to create spaces that feel genuinely restful. The design choices make sense for the climate and location, and you’ll find yourself actually wanting to hang out in your room rather than just crash there.

What Sets It Apart

You know what really works here? The property doesn’t try to be something it’s not. Instead of competing with the massive resort complexes, soulfactory Hawaii focuses on being a solid, well-located base for exploring Oahu. The staff seems to get that most guests want helpful local insights rather than over-the-top service, and they deliver on that front. It’s the kind of place where you can ask about the best poke spot or which beach has fewer crowds, and you’ll get honest answers.

Why Guests Love It

The 7.7 rating tells the real story — this place consistently delivers what it promises. Guests come back because it hits that sweet spot of being affordable, well-located, and genuinely comfortable without any pretense. The fact that couples rate the location so highly speaks to how well-positioned you are for both romantic dinners and daytime adventures. Whether you’re planning to surf at Waikiki Beach, hike Diamond Head, or just wander around Honolulu, you’re starting from the right spot. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but it might just be one of the smartest choices for travelers who want to experience Hawaii rather than just stay at a resort.

Apartments in Hawaii provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional farmers markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Hawaiian culinary traditions.

Overall it was a good experience. Fairly easy to get inside. Code was provided through Booking.com and worked well when we were trying to check in. The room was as showen as in the pictures. It was enough for the 2 of us since we were on a small budget and planning on being out and about all day anyways. The beds were really comfortable and we appreciated the water filter machine in the lobby.

  • Jo from United Kingdom (9/10)

This property is NOT beachfront, but it is an easy access to the beach, which is great. As Waikiki is so expensive, we were pleased to have booked a property with a kitchenette – it was squeezed in, but saved us so much money. Just a kettle and a microwave and we were set. Considering the apartment is pretty small, there was lots of handy storage, plenty of shelves and hooks and we weren't tripping over our luggage. Happy to have shower gel, shampoo and conditioner too and our host allowed us to check in early as we arrived quite early, so that was brilliant. Very close to shops, bus stops, the beach and parks, so a great location.

  • Kendra from United States (7/10)

The location of the property was wonderful. I was close to bus stops, ABC stores, many shops and restaurants. Owner was very quick responding when I had questions.
