The Bamboo Oasis at Bamboo Waikiki #307 Overview
You know what? The Bamboo Oasis at Bamboo Waikiki #307 isn’t going to blow you away with five-star luxury, but honestly, it’s got this laid-back charm that actually fits Waikiki better than some of those massive resort towers. I mean, the name pretty much tells you what you’re getting – there’s bamboo everywhere, and it does feel like a little oasis tucked away from all the chaos.
The thing about this place is it’s sort of refreshingly unpretentious. When you walk into unit #307, you’re not getting marble countertops or fancy amenities, but you are getting a space that feels… livable, I guess? The bamboo accents aren’t just for show – they’ve worked them into the furniture and decor in a way that actually makes sense with the whole island vibe. The kitchen’s basic but functional (perfect for those ridiculously expensive Foodland runs), and honestly, the lanai is where you’ll want to spend most of your time anyway. There’s something about having your morning coffee out there that just hits different than being stuck in some sterile hotel room.
Now, I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t a 4.8-star experience, and the 7.0 rating feels about right. The building’s got some age on it, and you might hear your neighbors more than you’d like (especially if there are kids running around upstairs). But here’s the thing that surprised me: the location works really well if you know how to navigate Waikiki. You’re close enough to walk to the beach without the insane crowds right in front of the Royal Hawaiian, and there are these little local spots nearby that the tourists staying at the big resorts never seem to find. The parking situation isn’t terrible either, which – trust me – matters more than you think it will until you’re circling blocks at 9 PM looking for a spot.
What I really appreciated, though, was how the whole Bamboo Waikiki property feels more like a neighborhood than a hotel. You’ll see the same faces in the elevator, people actually say hello in the hallways, and there’s this communal pool area where folks hang out and share recommendations. It’s not fancy, but it’s real. The maintenance team seems to actually care about the place too – I had an issue with the AC unit, and they had someone up there within a couple hours, no runaround. And honestly? After spending all day exploring the island or dealing with Waikiki Beach crowds, coming back to somewhere that feels more like a home base than a tourist trap was exactly what I needed. If you’re looking for Instagram-perfect luxury, keep scrolling. But if you want a solid, comfortable spot that won’t eat your entire vacation budget and lets you experience Waikiki more like a temporary resident than a tourist, #307 might just be your speed.

Location was excellent, close to shops and restaurants and only 5 miniues from Waikiki beach (by the police station) and Zoo. It was great to have the kitchen and the hotel pool was good. Plenty of towels (beach and bathroom) and basic kitchen equipment provided for our use. Access to an on site washing machine add drier was a bonus. Nice to have access to Netflix and the internet had a good signal.

The location was great. Super close to the beach (a couple blocks) and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The pool was small but lovely and with all the bamboo it had a nice quiet feel.

We loved the proximity to the beach and also the food market. The kids loved the pool and spa.
The food truck outside (maybe Mad Dog) was delicious!! And the gentleman that works at the hotels restaurant was absolutely lovely! He sits out the front of the hotel at the beginning of the night and then moves in around the pool. You have a lovely Aloha spirit. Thank you.Anthony from United States (7/10)
