The Bamboo Oasis at Bamboo Waikiki #307 Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Bamboo Oasis at Bamboo Waikiki #307, you immediately get that “local hideaway” vibe that’s honestly pretty rare in Waikiki these days. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not — instead, it leans into that laid-back Hawaiian charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special. The bamboo accents throughout aren’t just decorative either; they actually create this cool, tropical atmosphere that feels authentic rather than touristy.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re right in the heart of everything without being stuck in the chaos. The location score of 9.6 isn’t just marketing fluff; you can literally walk to Waikiki Beach in minutes, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. I mean, couples rate this place highly for good reason — there’s something romantic about having easy access to sunset walks on the beach while still being able to grab amazing poke bowls or hit up local bars without dealing with resort crowds.
The Space Itself
The room (#307 specifically) has this great corner position that gives you more natural light than you’d expect. It’s not huge, but honestly, who spends time indoors in Hawaii anyway? What I really appreciated was how thoughtfully laid out everything is — there’s actually space to unpack your stuff, and the bamboo details extend into the room design without feeling overwhelming. The bed is comfortable enough that you’ll sleep well after those long beach days, and the air conditioning works properly, which — trust me — matters more than you think in Waikiki humidity.
The Neighborhood Experience
Being in this part of Honolulu means you’re close to the real local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this incredible restaurant just two blocks away that serves the best garlic shrimp I’ve had outside of the North Shore, and you can walk to Kapiolani Park when you need a break from beach life. The area feels safe for evening strolls, and you’ll notice how many locals actually live and work around here — it’s not just a tourist bubble, which gives the whole experience more authenticity.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t a five-star resort with white-glove service, but that’s exactly why it works so well. The Bamboo Oasis gives you that perfect balance of comfort and location without the inflated prices or pretentious atmosphere. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a local secret than a tourist trap. You’ll save money compared to the big resort hotels, but you won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything important. Plus, the bamboo theme isn’t just aesthetic — it creates this genuinely relaxing environment that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your vacation instead of rushing from one Instagram spot to the next.

Convenient to beach, shopping. Food carts, and restaurants. Location, location, location!

Location was excellent, close to shops and restaurants and only 5 miniues from Waikiki beach (by the police station) and Zoo. It was great to have the kitchen and the hotel pool was good. Plenty of towels (beach and bathroom) and basic kitchen equipment provided for our use. Access to an on site washing machine add drier was a bonus. Nice to have access to Netflix and the internet had a good signal.

The location was great. Super close to the beach (a couple blocks) and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The pool was small but lovely and with all the bamboo it had a nice quiet feel.

We loved the proximity to the beach and also the food market. The kids loved the pool and spa.
The food truck outside (maybe Mad Dog) was delicious!! And the gentleman that works at the hotels restaurant was absolutely lovely! He sits out the front of the hotel at the beginning of the night and then moves in around the pool. You have a lovely Aloha spirit. Thank you.Anthony from United States (7/10)
