It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its name – there really are sea turtles in the bay, and I spotted three of them during my morning coffee on day two. The whole property has this laid-back elegance that feels intentional rather than trying-too-hard, if that makes sense.

The villas themselves are spread out enough that you’re not hearing your neighbors’ conversations through paper-thin walls (honestly, such a relief after some of my recent hotel experiences). Each unit has this spacious, airy feel with high ceilings and these gorgeous wooden shutters that you can adjust throughout the day as the sun moves around. The kitchenettes are actually functional – I mean, you could cook a real meal here, not just reheat leftovers. There’s something really satisfying about making your own breakfast and eating it on your private terrace while watching the water change colors as the light shifts. The furnishings feel authentic rather than generic hotel-issue – lots of natural textures and that weathered wood that looks like it belongs near the ocean.

What really sets this place apart, though, is how the staff treats you like a regular even when you’ve just arrived. The front desk guy (I think his name was Marcus?) gave me the kind of local tips you usually have to stumble upon yourself – like which beach entrance has the best snorkeling and where to grab groceries without paying resort prices. The housekeeping is thorough but not intrusive, and they actually remember how you like your towels arranged. Small things, but they add up. The grounds are impeccably maintained without feeling overly manicured – there are these meandering paths through tropical gardens that feel more like exploring than walking through a hotel lobby. I found myself taking different routes just to see what I’d discover. The pool area never felt crowded, even though the place seemed pretty full, and there are enough quiet corners that you can always find your own space. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the wifi can be spotty in some of the more secluded villas, but honestly? That forced digital detox might be exactly what you need. With a 9.0 rating, Turtle Bay Villas earns every point – it’s the kind of place that makes you start planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out.

  We enjoyed being so close to the beach & pool. So lovely waking up to the beautiful ocean view and greeting the morning with a coffee on the lanai. Beautiful gardens & wonderful amenities (washer/dryer/dishwasher). Everything that we needed for a fun filled vacay for our family.
