The “modern” part of the name isn’t just marketing speak either; there’s a clean, uncluttered feel that makes the space feel bigger than it probably is on paper.

Location-wise, you’re getting that authentic Maui experience without the resort bubble thing. I actually prefer this kind of setup because you end up discovering those local spots that tour groups never hit – the kind of place where you grab coffee and the person behind the counter remembers your order by day three. Parking was straightforward (always a relief in Hawaii), and the check-in process was refreshingly simple. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’re staying among actual residents, not just other tourists, which gives you a better sense of what island life is really like. Sure, you might hear the occasional neighbor or street noise, but it’s the normal sounds of a real place, not the artificial quiet of some sterile hotel complex. For what you’re paying and what you get – especially that solid 8.6 from people who’ve actually stayed here – it’s honestly hard to complain about much of anything.

  We were only on Maui for 9 hours and leaving for another island, so the location close to the airport was nice. Getting keys was easy at our late hour of arrival. Room had a coffee machine to make a couple cups of coffee, and we were on our way the next morning.
