The whole “less than 3 miles to beach access” thing sounded like real estate speak for “you’re gonna need a car.” But you know what? After spending a few days here, I actually get why they emphasize the airy part. The trade winds really do sweep through this place beautifully, which is clutch when you’re dealing with that Big Island heat.

The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – think clean, functional, maybe not the most Instagram-worthy spot you’ll ever stay, but it does what it needs to do. The 3-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, especially compared to some of the places right on Alii Drive where you’re dealing with traffic and late-night beach parties. The kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to hit up the KTA Super Store and cook some of those amazing local fish – way better than eating out every single meal, trust me on that one. Parking was easy too, which honestly can be a nightmare in Kailua-Kona if you’re staying somewhere downtown.

Here’s the thing about that beach access – yeah, it’s a short drive, but that’s not necessarily bad. You’re close enough to hit Kahalu’u Beach Park for snorkeling (seriously, the turtles there are incredible), but you’re also positioned well for exploring up the coast toward Waimea or down to the coffee farms in the Kona hills. I mean, everything on this side of the island requires some driving anyway unless you want to spend your entire vacation on one beach. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s solid, reliable, gets the job done without any major surprises either way. The host was responsive when I had questions about the wifi setup, and check-in was smooth. Would I call it a luxury experience? Definitely not. But if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable base camp for exploring the Kona side without paying resort prices, this place actually works really well. Just bring groceries and maybe a good book for those late afternoon trade wind sessions on whatever outdoor space they’ve got – that’s honestly when this spot shines.

  My unit was a top unit of a duplex with beautiful views coastline, blue skies, and miles of ocean, secured with a gated fence. Pretty amazing views! (not sure how different a ground unit would feel). Very peaceful and quiet, felt like I was in a rustic cabin and occasionally you hear and see the wild pigs walking about on the ground below, which was fun. Apt was comfortable, no a/c but that’s okay – you just open up all the windows and there is enough cooler air at night to cool it down. A bag of Kona coffee was provided in the kitchenette which was great and lasted the entire time! The owner lives in a unit on the property, nice guy, enjoyed chatting with him. The wall is thin to adjoining unit, so this place is best suited for a more quiet couple who enjoys the peacefulness and serenity of Kona, and yet it’s a very short drive down to all the restaurants and shopping on Ali’i drive. Enjoyed sitting outside on the Lanai deck with a big table; it was a nice place to eat breakfast while enjoying the views on the big island.

  お部屋の中も綺麗にお掃除されており、気持ちよく過ごせました！
  高台にあるので見晴らしがよく、夕日も朝日もうっとり。
  鳥のさえずりや虫の声も聞こえて、自然を感じることが出来てリラックスできました！
  またハワイ島に行く際は利用したいと思います！
