Hale Kai O’Kihei 302 Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hale Kai O’Kihei 302, you immediately get that “this is exactly what I pictured” feeling about a Maui getaway. It’s not trying to be fancy — this three-star condo feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed beach house than a traditional hotel. The property sits right in the heart of Kihei, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. You can practically roll out of bed and onto one of Maui’s best stretches of beach, which explains why couples consistently rate the location a perfect 10.
The Space & Setup
What I love about this place is how it strikes that sweet spot between having your own space and getting the perks of a managed property. The condo itself feels lived-in in the best way — you’ve got a full kitchen (which you’ll actually want to use), a living area where you can spread out, and that crucial separate bedroom space. The furnishings aren’t magazine-perfect, but they’re comfortable and functional. You know what really impressed me? How quickly the property management responds to questions — I mean, we’re talking about a vacation rental that actually acts like they want you to have a good time.
Location & Beach Access
Here’s where Hale Kai O’Kihei 302 really shines — the location is absolutely unbeatable. You’re on South Kihei Road, which puts you within walking distance of some of the island’s most reliable beach spots. Kamaole Beach Parks are right there, and these aren’t just any beaches — they’re the ones locals actually use because the swimming is safe and the sand is soft. The snorkeling at Kamaole III is surprisingly good, especially in the morning before the crowds show up. Plus, you’re close enough to Wailea to feel upscale when you want to, but far enough from the resort crowds to maintain that authentic Maui vibe.
Practical Perks
The kitchen situation here is actually a game-changer for your vacation budget. Foodland is just down the road, and there’s something satisfying about making your morning coffee while looking out at the Pacific. The washer and dryer might seem like small details, but after a few days of beach and hiking, you’ll appreciate being able to refresh your clothes without packing half your closet. Parking is straightforward too — no valet fees or hunting for spots like you’d deal with at the big resorts. The property management keeps things running smoothly without being intrusive, which is exactly what you want in a vacation rental.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to this place is how it lets you live like a local while still being on vacation. You’re not stuck eating every meal at resort restaurants, but you’re also not roughing it in some sketchy rental. The beach access is phenomenal, the space gives you room to breathe, and the location puts you right in the middle of everything South Maui has to offer. Couples especially seem to appreciate having their own little slice of paradise without the crowds and formality of a traditional hotel — it’s intimate without being isolated, comfortable without being boring.
Visitors often choose Hawaii apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Pacific paradise.

Love hearing the waves crashing on the beach. Nice to have a balcony overlooking the ocean. Everything worked perfectly with no issues. Great water pressure

The location right on uncrowded South Kehei beach is superb. The grounds and surrounding area are very well maintained by Johnny who is a gem. The property is on the third floor, so getting your luggage up two flights of stairs can be hard work if, like us you are island hopping for 30 days. Everything was clean and the condo is well equipped. Walking along the beach each morning was divine and watching the sun set every evening was an amazing bonus.

I loved pretty much everything about it. it was older than I pictured so things like the drain in the bathroom sink didn’t have a stopper, and there was hard water buildup around the faucets and shower head. Just needed to be cleaned better I think, but all in all the condo was nice. the sofa could be replaced. it’s not that comfy. definitely needs new throw pillows. The bed pillows need replacing too. the extra pillows in the closet were all stained and gross. I didn’t touch those.
it sounds like I didn’t like it but I really did! It’s just little things that I thought would be better quality and nicer weren’t. the view of the ocean made up for everything. That sunset view every night was magical. Free parking and wifi also a huge plus!Jon from United Kingdom (9/10)
The location is great. We had a car, so were driving to many places we wanted to see. But even without a car this is a great place, superb views over the ocean. The beds were comfortable (also the sofa bed). Some of the interior is dated but still overall excellent value for money.
