Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about the Ilikai Tower? It’s that moment when you walk into unit 1340 and realize you’re basically getting a front-row seat to one of Waikiki’s most iconic lagoon views without paying resort prices. I mean, this isn’t some fancy hotel suite with marble everything, but honestly – who cares when you’ve got floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Ala Wai Harbor like a living postcard?
The one-bedroom setup is pretty clever, actually. The living area flows right into this little kitchen that’s got everything you’d need if you want to grab some poke from Tamura’s or hit up the KCC Saturday market and actually use what you buy. The bedroom’s tucked away just enough that you can have the TV going in the main room without it bothering anyone trying to sleep off jet lag. And let me tell you, that lagoon view from the bedroom window is something else entirely – especially in the morning when the light hits the water and you can watch the outrigger canoe teams practicing their strokes.
What I really appreciate about staying here is how it puts you right in the thick of things without the tourist trap feeling. You’re literally across from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, so you get to watch all their Friday night fireworks from your lanai (with a drink in hand, naturally), but you can also just walk down Hobron Lane and grab some actual local food at Rainbow Drive-In when you’re tired of resort prices. The building itself has that old-school Hawaiian condo vibe – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, you know? Sure, the elevators are a bit slow and the hallway carpeting has seen better days, but there’s something refreshingly honest about the whole place. Plus, parking’s included, which if you’ve ever tried to park around Waikiki, you’ll know is basically worth its weight in gold. The only thing I’d mention is that Duke Kahanamoku Beach gets pretty packed on weekends, but honestly, that’s half the fun – grab a chair, watch the sunset, and soak up all that energy. This spot gives you the real Hawaii experience without breaking the bank or feeling like you’re stuck in some sterile hotel bubble.
Hotels in Hawaii offer guests the perfect blend of tropical luxury and modern comfort, with many featuring surfing concierge services and traditional Hawaiian spa treatments to enhance the authentic island experience.

The position was amazing. The bed was really comfy and the kitchen utensils, plates etc were great. Extra towels, tissues and toilet paper was good.

This was our second stay at the Ilikai hotel and the value cannot be beat. Superb oceanfront location with lagoon AND ocean views, the room is twice the size of a standard hotel room and includes a full kitchen. We loved the ice cream and coffee shops by the lobby.
