Oceanview Kailua-Kona Condo with Private Balcony! Overview

First Impressions

The Oceanview Kailua-Kona Condo with Private Balcony! honestly surprised me — in the best way possible. I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical about staying in a condo rather than a traditional hotel, but this three-star property completely changed my perspective. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of being in someone’s well-loved home rather than just another tourist accommodation. You know what really got me? The way the afternoon light filters through those sliding doors leading to the balcony — it’s something you just can’t capture in photos.

Location & Neighborhood

Being right in Kailua-Kona means you’re actually in the heart of everything without feeling overwhelmed by crowds. I could walk to Ali’i Drive in just a few minutes, where all those great local coffee shops and restaurant line the waterfront. The parking situation is honestly a relief — having a guaranteed spot on-site saved me so much stress, especially during busy evening hours when everyone’s heading out for dinner. What I really appreciated was how couples seem to gravitate toward this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having your own private space with that ocean view.

The Space Itself

The room — well, it’s more like having your own little Hawaiian hideaway. The private balcony is where I spent most of my mornings with coffee, watching the ocean change colors as the sun came up. I mean, you’re getting genuine ocean views here, not some partial glimpse between buildings like at many other places. The kitchen setup was actually more functional than I expected — I ended up making simple breakfasts and storing leftovers from those generous Big Island portions. Everything felt clean and well-maintained, though you can tell this is a lived-in space rather than a sterile hotel environment.

What Makes It Special

Here’s the thing about this condo — it strikes that perfect balance between independence and comfort that’s hard to find. You get the privacy of your own space (which couples especially seem to love), but you’re not isolated from the vibrant Kailua-Kona scene. The balcony becomes your personal observation deck for everything from morning coffee rituals to evening wind-down sessions. I actually found myself spending more time just relaxing here than I usually do at hotels, probably because it felt like a temporary home base rather than just a place to sleep.

Why Guests Love It

The location rating of 9.1 from recent guests makes total sense once you’ve stayed here — you’re close enough to walk to restaurants and shops, but far enough from the main tourist chaos to actually unwind. What really sealed the deal for me was realizing how much money I saved by having that functional kitchen space, plus the benefit of spreading out in a real living area. It’s not fancy in a resort way, but it’s genuinely comfortable in a way that feels authentic to the Big Island experience. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between hotel convenience and vacation rental personality, this place delivers exactly that.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Hawaii through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best locations for exploring the islands’ pristine beaches and hidden gems.

Very spacious and fully-equipped condo, with anything from large kitchen and washer-dryer to nice lanai to enjoy breakfast and evenings, some table games and lots of beach gear.Location convenient for exploring Big Island. Owner very attentive and responsive.

It was cute and clean. Love the view from the balcony and it felt like it had the comfort of being at home. You can go out past the pool that has a view of the ocean and grill and lounge right on the water-amazing view! Loved having a washer and dryer, and all the things we could think to need. Lots of swimming stuff including chairs, pool noodles, snorkels and boogie boards. Some condiments, cleaning items and laundry soap and dryer sheets. Property owners were extremely helpful and quick to respond. It was just a lovely visit and I’d def stay here again!

The location was great; it was close to everything. Also the view from my balcony was beautiful and the grounds were filled with beautifully maintained tropical flowers and shrubs. 🙂

So much to offer: rocky, black lava rocks sitting area, local fruits, Asian mongooses, Mourning geckos, fully stocked kitchen with some spices, swim gear, mini-ice chest, beach blankets. Few things would make this Kona Maka area a “will-rent and return” is EV charging plug/station (nice to have while we walk around and sleep,) hamper for laundry and sand castle beach toys to borrow. The bathtub or restroom is working well and there’s even old sunscreen and the drain is excellent but older. If this unit can be renovated for a new shower area with HVAC instead of window unit it would be less noisy while we sleep, it would be Excellent. The entrance gate panel is located on the right and we often need the front passenger side (me,) to get out and punch in the code. The closest parking to Building 3 condo 106 is next to the yellow leaves specked with green hedges a d up the path. Booking.com only let me attach 4 pictures. Otherwise, a very well thought out rental close to most attractions and there is no bad view on the Big Island.

The location was great however, it was not Oceanview as the name would suggest. However, it is Hawaii and Hawaii is beautiful.
