Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Islander on the Beach 363, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes those mid-range spots end up surprising you in the best way possible. The building itself has this sort of weathered beach charm that actually works – I mean, it’s not trying to be some fancy resort, and that’s exactly why it feels so authentic.
What really got me was how close you actually are to the water. I’m talking like, you can hear the waves from most of the rooms, and when I say “hear the waves,” I don’t mean that distant ocean white noise – you’re genuinely right there. The staff at check-in mentioned that room 363 (hence the name, I guess?) has become somewhat of a local favorite, though honestly, most of the oceanfront rooms give you that same immediate beach access. The whole setup reminds me of those classic Florida beach motels from the ’70s, but they’ve kept it clean and functional without losing that laid-back vibe.
Here’s the thing about this place – it’s got an 8.0 rating for good reason, and it’s not because of marble bathrooms or concierge service. It’s because they nail the basics really well. The rooms are clean, the AC works (crucial during summer months), and the beds are actually comfortable. I stayed during what the locals call “shoulder season” – that sweet spot between the crazy busy summer and the dead winter months – and the whole place had this perfect relaxed energy. You’ll find a mix of families doing the beach vacation thing and some regulars who’ve apparently been coming back for years. There’s this one couple I chatted with by the pool who told me they’ve stayed here every October for the past decade because, and I quote, “it just feels like home, but with housekeeping.”
The practical stuff: parking is free and right there (no hunting for spots), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the property, and they’ve got that ice machine situation figured out – always stocked, never broken. Small things, but they matter when you’re trying to relax. The pool area gets good sun most of the day, though it can get a bit crowded with kids around 2 PM when the beach gets too hot. If you’re looking for quiet pool time, early morning or late afternoon is your sweet spot. One thing I really appreciated – no loud music or aggressive pool activities, just people actually relaxing.
What sets Islander on the Beach 363 apart from other places in this category is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re paying for location, cleanliness, and that genuine beachside experience without the resort markup. The value proposition here is pretty solid – you’re literally steps from the sand, the place runs smoothly, and you can walk to several decent restaurants without getting in your car. It’s the kind of spot where you might come for three nights and end up wishing you’d booked five.

Location on the ocean was amazing, loved falling asleep to the waves crashing on the ocean and waking up to outstanding sunrises every morning. Lots of shops and restaurants within a short walk.

Sehr toller Meerblick, grosses Zimmer, Badetücher, Schnorchelset, kostenloser Parkplatz. Die Aussicht ist der Wahnsinn, ich bin mit Meeresrauschen aufgewacht.
