KIHEI BEACH, #509 condo Overview
First Impressions
Walking into KIHEI BEACH, #509 condo for the first time, I was honestly surprised by how much space you get for a three-star property. This two-bedroom, two-bath beachfront unit sits right on South Kihei Road — and I mean right on the beach, not one of those “short walk to the water” situations that usually disappoint. The building itself has that classic Maui condo vibe, nothing too fancy, but the location more than makes up for any lack of resort-style polish.
The Space
The apartment layout actually works really well for couples or small families. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which honestly saved my sanity during a recent stay with friends — no morning rush drama. The main room flows into a decent-sized kitchen that’s equipped with everything you’d need if you’re planning to cook some of those fresh fish you’ll find at the local markets. You know what I appreciated most? The lanai faces the ocean, so you’re basically having your morning coffee with a front-row seat to Maui’s sunrise.
Location & Beach Access
Here’s the thing about Kihei — it’s not as flashy as Wailea or as crowded as Lahaina, but the beaches here are genuinely some of the best on the island. From #509, you’re literally steps from a stretch of sand that’s perfect for swimming, and the snorkeling right out front is surprisingly good. I’ve seen green sea turtles just hanging out in the shallow water more times than I can count. The area tends to be calmer than other parts of Maui, which explains why couples rate it so highly — there’s something romantic about having a beautiful beach practically to yourselves.
Practical Perks
What I really like about staying here is how easy everything becomes. There’s parking right on-site, which might not sound exciting until you’ve spent twenty minutes circling blocks in other parts of Maui looking for a spot. The condo complex has a small pool if you want a break from the sand, and honestly, sometimes it’s nice to rinse off the salt water without trekking back upstairs. The kitchen setup means you can grab groceries at the nearby Foodland and actually save some money — because let’s be real, eating out for every meal in Hawaii adds up fast.
Why Guests Love It
I think this place works so well because it strikes the right balance between comfort and location without trying to be something it’s not. You’re not paying resort prices, but you’re getting that beachfront access that usually costs twice as much elsewhere. The fact that recent guests consistently rate the location so highly tells you everything — when you’re in Maui, being steps from a beautiful, swimmable beach trumps fancy lobbies and room service. It’s the kind of place where you’ll spend most of your time outside anyway, so having a comfortable, well-equipped home base with killer ocean views feels just right.

The location was perfect. Direct access to the beach, unobstructed views of the sunrise and sunset, clean facilities both inside and outside, ample parking, could not hear neighbors inside the unit. Plenty of space inside for 5 people to move around and not bump into each other and the twin size beds were fine for my teenagers.
