Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be straight with you about Kihei Holiday 116 – it’s not going to blow your mind, but honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. This three-star spot sits right in the heart of Kihei, and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally walking distance from some of the best beaches on Maui’s south shore, which is really all that matters when you’re trying to maximize your sand time.

The thing about this place is it feels more like staying at someone’s well-maintained vacation condo than a typical hotel. The building itself has that classic Hawaiian low-rise vibe – you know, the kind where you can actually hear the ocean if you listen for it (though you’ll also hear the occasional ice machine, let’s be real). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Sure, you’re close to the action, but once the sun goes down, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The parking situation is actually decent too, which anyone who’s driven around Kihei during peak season will tell you is no small thing.

Here’s what really sold me on the place – the location puts you within walking distance of Foodland for groceries, and you’re basically equidistant from Kalama Park and Kamaole Beach Parks. I spent most mornings grabbing coffee from that little spot near the shopping center, then hitting Kam I or Kam II depending on whether I wanted bodyboarding waves or calmer water. The beach access paths are right there, no need to drive anywhere or hunt for parking. And honestly, after a full day of sun and surf, coming back to a no-frills but clean and comfortable room just hits different. The 7.5 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but everything works, the AC keeps up with the Maui heat, and the beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this). The staff keeps things running smoothly without being overly chatty, which I personally appreciate when I’m in vacation mode. If you’re the type who wants to spend your money on activities and food rather than fancy hotel amenities you’ll barely use, this place delivers exactly what you need and nothing you don’t.

Fantastic location, just across the street from the beach. We appreciated the boogy boards which the kids used almost every day. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed. Being able to do laundry was also very nice.

Location is wonderful. So close to the beach. The condo had sand toys and boogie boards for use which was very appreciated. We also loved the washer and dryer in unit!
