The location works really well if you know the area – you’re close enough to the main Kona action that grabbing dinner at Da Poke Shack or hitting up the Saturday farmers market isn’t a production, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window. The trade winds keep things comfortable most of the time, though I should mention that if you’re sensitive to the occasional helicopter tour flying overhead, it happens – comes with the territory on this side of the island. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings. You’ll hear the waves more than traffic, which is sort of the whole point of being here, right?
