The water stays calm most days, which makes it perfect for those early morning swims before the trade winds pick up. What You’re Actually Getting

The accommodations here are more like vacation condos than traditional hotel rooms, which works really well if you’re planning to stay more than a few nights. Most units have kitchenettes (some full kitchens), which actually saves you a ton of money since eating out for every meal in Wailea can get pretty expensive. The apartment-style setup means you’ll have more space to spread out, and many units have those classic lanais where you can sit with your coffee and watch the sunrise. The building shows its age in places, but everything’s clean and functional — it’s more about the experience than fancy finishes.

Getting Around and Staying Active

One thing I really appreciated was the free parking — you’d be surprised how many places in this area charge for that. The fitness center is basic but gets the job done if you want to squeeze in a workout, though honestly, with all the beach activities available, I barely used it. The property sits perfectly between Kihei and the fancier Wailea resorts, so you can walk to casual dining spots or drive five minutes to the Grand Wailea if you want to splurge on dinner. There’s also a decent restaurant on-site that locals actually frequent, which tells you something about the food quality.

Why Guests Love It

What makes this place work is that it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. You’re paying for an unbeatable beachfront location at a fraction of what the big resorts charge, and the trade-off is that you won’t have a spa or room service. But if you’re the type of traveler who wants to experience Maui rather than just lounge at a resort, this setup is pretty ideal.   It was my 4th time here. Location is excellent. Steps away from the beach. Winston ( Manager ) accommodated my requests superbly. Oscar the security guard was excellent. 808 store staff where nice and professional. "A" who worked there was chatty and had a colorful personality.
  
  Best sunset location in Kihie. All in all I have never been let down the staff and location. Will visit again!

  The beach right out front was fantastic and perfect for all ages. The little grocery store was very convenient as well as the rental shop. The grounds were well maintained and I love all the plants and trees. I also liked that there were chairs available. The pool was the perfect temp. I look forward to staying again when the restaurant is complete. I also liked that there was access to the beach for locals. The laundry was very convenient as well.

  The ability to walk right out to the beach, the locked pool, towel service, the store and equipment rental area, our room was perfect with wonderful amenities, and that the staff was SO friendly!! The kitty was a bonus, as were the chickens. 🙂
